    Rotel RSP-1066 Placement question!!

    Hi,

I just purchased the Rotel RSP1066 with RMB 1075. I was wondering if it's ok to place the RSP1066 directly on top of the RMB1075 like the picture on the WWW.Rotel.com??

it's best to give them their own shelf. amps should have about four inches of breathing room on the sides and top to ensure cooling.

It's a hassle, but worth keeping the 1066 off the 1075. My 1075 doesn't get that hot, but I don't want to chance damaging either the 1075 or my 1066.

Let's face it, Not many of us will explore the boundaries, or find the limitations of these products. I have a 1066 and a 1095. The 1066 sits directly on top of the 1095. The 1095 is used to drive (very) inefficient speakers. During burn in proceedures I left the units on for a copuple of days, driving some pretty heavy loads. the 1095 barely got warm. the 1066 did generate heat. Neither created a concern, nor caused a problem. I'd say that the placement of a unit above the 1066 would be a no-no, if indeed it obstructed the air vents on the top of the 1066 cover. Otherwise....no problems at all. So...go forth and don't be concerned...Don't they have thermal protection circuitry anywway?

I'm building a modded version of Jed's 2CC design...or more specifically a modded version of FroDaddy's version with the sealed mid/tweet chamber (see attached pic). I've "over built" the width of the cabinet for my TV to sit on. Because of this I didn't need the additional volume behind the...

            RSP1066 Vs RSP1068
            by wywong
            Hi,
I have an option of buying an RSP1066 or an RSP1068, the different in price is about $400. Can someone give me an opinion on whether it is worth the extra of $400 to get the RSP1068. I am currently using a Denon 3803 as a pre/processor and the RMB1075. Will this upgrade to the Rotel RSP1066...

            No subwoofer on RSP1066.
            by manini
            Hello,
When I connect my sub to de sub-out I have no sound out my subwoofer. It seems dead. I have my front's set to small, subwoofer to Yes in the menu.

The sub works fine on my old receiver, but on the rsp1066 it will not work.

I've bought the rsp1066 second hand....

            Driver Breathing Space
            by Lindahl
I'm mounting RS150-4s into two layers of MDF. I'm worried about the drivers getting enough breathing space, since the second layer almost closes airways between the motor and the frame. Due to access, I can't chamfer the back of the first layer. Instead, I'm going to pre-route larger holes in the first...
