Local HT meet with Marc Schnoll of B&W/Rotel

My local Rotel/B&W dealer hosted an “invitation-only” event the week to meet Marc Schnoll, who is a product specialist with B&W and Rotel. I posted some details from the event over in the B&W forum (trying to build some traffic over there )

Nice info about the demo. Your ht gear looks impressive too.

I noticed you have a dvd-a and sacd players, did you connected both on the 6 rca ext in of the pre-amp or they aren't? If they are connected what device you got them hooked up to?

I am thinking of buying two separate players but not sure how to connect them both to my receiver.

      Hi Don

Unfortunately, I achieve support for DVD-A and SACD by going into the wiring closet behind the gear and switching interconnects.

Fortunately, I don’t do it that often. The kind of music I like (mostly jazz) is more prevalent on SACD than DVD-A. I own about 3 dozen SACD's and only 3 or 4 DVD-A's.

It is possible to support both. There is a guy over on AVS who sells a 6-channel switcher box. Its $200 for the box. But then you have to factor in that you need 18 interconnects to hook it all up (6 from SACD to box, 6 from DVD-A to box, and 6 from box to pre/pro).

If you are intersesed in that switcher box let me know and I will hunt down the link to it for you.

        I'm new here. I didn't know Rotel and B&W share their R&D, I'm glad I make a right chose. I brought a pair of B&W 703 early this month and I'm picking up RSP1098,RMB1095 and RB1080 tomorrow.

            DVDA/SACD Connections to 1066
            by Mike Hayes
I am considering purchasing a Pioneer 563A ($180) universal player to replace my Toshiba SD5700. I am currently using just the digital connection (not using the 5 analog cables for DVDA). This will be my first experience with DVDA/SACD in conjunction with my 1066 so please bear with me.

Just bought my first DVDA, Vivaldi's Four Seasons, and need to know how to set up the Rotel 1066. Denon 1600 DVD player to output DVDA. Right now, I've placed the disc in the 1600 and sound seems to come out of all speakers after I pushed the Multi Imput button on the Rotel's front panel. The display...
