Apparently it is possible but its not as straightforward as it is in the 1066 so they're working with their techs to come up with something for us.

The preamp/processor circuitry layout is more cramped on the RSX-1055 as compared to the RSP-1066. Obviously, since they need to fit in the amplifier and tuner sections in the same size box.

People on this forum claim that pre-pro sound quality is identical between the RSX-1055 and RSP-1066. I had my dealer A/B both as a prepro feeding the RMB-1095 and driving a pair of high quality B&W loudspeakers.

IMHO , the RSP-1066 sounded more open when used as a 2 channel analog preamp, e.g. for a high quality CD player such as an Arcam CD72T. I did not do an A/B for multichannel HT.

The RSP-1066 and RMB-1055 may use similar components, however the better (less cramped) layout and lack of a power amplifier section and dealing with the associated noise does make a difference, at least for two channel stereo listening.

            RSX-1055 5.1 bass management
            by paazel
Hello, I'm thinking of upgrading from my RSX-972 to a RSX-1055.

Currently my Panasonic DMP-80K is connected via coax & also thru the 5.1 analog inputs. My RSX-972 lacks bass management for the 5.1 inputs; and as I'm too lazy to manually adjust the bass on my sub, I end up using the...

            RSX-1055 multi-input Bass/sub strange behavior
            by Pitou5
            Hello,

I just upgraded my rsx-1055 to the latest version which is 2.30.

Now I'm not sure if it's a side effect of this firmware update, but when using the multi-input, I can increase or decrease the sub level and I can really hear it.

            I'm using the remote...

            Rotel RSP-1066 Bass Management Report
            by Dre J
            Hello,

I finally registered since I had something useful to add. More to come.

I've spent a good deal of time characterizing the Rotel RSP-1066's bass management under all input conditions. Below is the link to my web page with Rotel's Bass management report and workarounds...

            Some good news from Rotel
            by gianni
After making an effort to piece together an understanding of bass management in the 1055/1066 through various sources including Club Rotel, I posted the thread: "Come on Rotel -- help us out!"

After posting that thread I also sent a similar letter to Rotel. Rather than getting...
