    Rotel RSP1098 (SACD)

    A question for the expert on the 1098
    I just got a DVD- player that does DVD-A & SACD (universal player),
    is it possible to have the 1098 to play any cd sacd dvd-a or dvd-v
    without swithing each time from video1 to EXT for mutichannel (manually),
    to have it swithing automatically to the correct format
    my dvd player is set and it detects what ever format I put in but the rotel does not detect it :M
    I have dvd also connected with coaxial for DTS & DD rotel has a better
    decoder :T

      Short answer: no.

      Long Answer: use the macro function on the Rotel remote to set up a V1,EXT macro on an unused button when you want to listen to DVDA/SACD

      Longer answer: Get a different remote like a PRONTO that can be programmed to do do anything you want. I usually set up a CD/SACD/DVDA icon on the main page that sets everything up for DVD and then hits the EXT button and a DVD icon that does the same thing but ommits the EXT button.

          Yeah I've got a Yamaha touchscreen remote with "Listen To" and "Watch" sections with buttons setup for listening to CD's in surround, stereo or DVD-A under "Listen" and buttons for DVD, D-Cable etc under "Watch". When I push a particular button it switches to appropriate inputs, surround formats, mutes the TV etc. It's only limited to your imagination and gear's capabilities
