Help with 1098 and SACD hook up

Hello everyone, Just wanted to say that I love this fourm and love Rotel! Today I got my 1098 and also got a new dvd player. ( a 400 disc Sony SACD and DVD player) Well I am confused as to how to hook it up to my rotel to allow me to use it as a DVD player and a SACD player. Any help would be greatly appreciated. So far I LOVE the unit and can't wait to listen to Pink Floyd SACD Dard Side of the Moon. Thanks again guys.

You should connect either a digital coax or digital optical cable to the 1098 for Dolby Digital DTS (personally I like digital coax). Then you will also have to connect 6 (5.1 = L/C/R/SL/SR/Sub) analog cables to the multi-input of the 1098 as you can only listen to SACD (and DVD-A) through analog outputs from your player to the 1098. The one player will basically be treated like two devices by the 1098. For more information on the setup options on your player for SACD, refer to it's manual

I know getting 6 analog RCA cables can get very expensive, but that is the only option you have in order to listen to SACD or DVD-Audio. I would advise you not to mix different interconnects if you can avoid it. Check out the high quality interconnects offered by CAT CABLE.
