    RSX-1056 & Heat Issues

I currently have my RDV-1040 sitting directly on top of my 1056, while I know this isn't an optimal setup, am I causing any harm to it while I shop around for a decent rack?

If anyone has any suggestions on a modern-design 4-5 shelf rack, please let me know as well. I've been looking at some options from AVDeco, but they are a bit pricey.

    Thx!

In my opinion, yes, especially if the 1056 has vents on top, which I believe it does. Receivers/pre-pros disseminate a lot of heat, be careful.

You may want to post the rack recommendations in the Home Theater forum, you would probably get better feedback. I actually use a Salamander rack, check out the Rotel pics on the forum.

    Just my monies worth.

    Regards,

    Azeke

There was a few DVD players of various brands not that long ago that were failing early and in nearly every case it was b/c people put them on top of hot amps or recievers. While its not likely going to kill it in a week or three I wouldn't do it for much longer if you can help it....at the very least until that time I'd look at adding something under each foot to help lift it up a little more to allow more room for them both to breath

        RSX1056 Video Switching Card Bandwidth?
        by FSonicSmith
I'm not happy with the PQ I'm getting from satellite high def. My satellite receiver's output is going into my Rotel via component and is then going out from the Rotel into my front projector via component cable. Someone on another board (AVSforum) suggested that my problem may be my receiver. He contends...

        Hello,

I'm new to these forums. Mainly here just to get an answer or clarification on my issues.

I just bought a second hand RSX-1056 for my near-field monitoring studio.

I'm going from DAW - Digidesign 003 Rack (DAC) - Rotel Amp then to a 2.1 speaker setup...

        Will RSX-1056 improve with a RB976 amp and does rsx1056 = rsp1066
        by mike.g
        I have a RB976 6 channel amp
        http://europe.rotel.com/support/pdfs/manuals/Rb976.pdf

It drives my M&K k17's and K4's all of which are rated at 4 ohm.

The amp's specs are rated at 4 ohm and it is very clear the amp should and can drive 4 ohm speakers on all channels....

        Heat Dissipation with Rotel 1066/1075
        by aramb
I have the Rotel 1066/1075/1070 rackmounted in a 43-space Middle Atlantic rack, along with a lot of other equipment. The amps and processor put out quite a bit of heat. The 1075 and 1070 are rackmounted about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom of the rack. The processor is about 1/3 of the way down from...

RB1070 with RSX1056 for best HT and Stereo setup?
        by sunggipark
Is it possible to use an RSX-1056 and RB-1070 to create an optimum HT setup and stereo setup. Essentially, the RB-1070 would power Front Left and Right while the RSX-1056 would act as the Pre-pro and power the center and 2 or 4 surround speakers. A separate power sub would be a part of the setip. Would...
