I just purchased a RSP-1098 and discovered to my dismay, that my DVD player (Sony DVPNS999ES) only outputs to one video connection at a time, i.e. if cables are attached to the component video out (to the monitor) and composite video out (to the RSP), the 999ES defaults to the component only. The other video source I use is HDTV, which is also component video. How can I use the video display capability of the front TFT screen on the RSP-1098 without downgrading all the video signals to composite?

Unfortunately, not much. Most new HD receivers and DVD players on the market today have all outputs enabled all the time due to issues like this.. Most except for, ironically, the Rotel RDV-1040/50.. It will not output composite in progressive mode. (but does give you a remote button to toggle prog/non-prog)

Is it possible to optionally switch the video output to composite video out? I watch a lot of movies and dont always want to use my projector.
thanks,...-

by >>Angel<<Dear Rotel enthousiasts,
Yesterday I bought a Pioneer plasma screen to complete my Rotel setup
After concluding all the (required) connections I found out that there's a problem displaying (progressive or not) an 1060 image on the Plasma screen.
I really hope...-

by LexI went out to Now Audio Video one evening to look at progressive scan DVD players, thinking maybe I'd find something I liked. So, I rolled in the store right at 8:00 PM, thinking I had 1 hour to look. I didn't know 9 months ago they changed their store hours to close at 8! GRRR. They did unlock the... - Loading...
