I just bought some Supra 3.4S speaker cable at one end of the cable it has a thin wire that has to be earthed to your power amp chassis. I was wondering do you just undo any old screw on the back of my RB 985 and attatch this wire! The cable is multi core type with a tinned braided copper sleeve wrapping around the two cores (L+R) then this is incased by a PVC material. It's called a screened type cable and it is suppose to stop electrical interference I think.
How to connect screened SPK Cable to Rotel Amp

The other end (speaker end) you don't attatch it to anything. The idea is that the shielded sleeve picks up any RF noise and earths it back to the AMP end. I not sure with it's affectiveness here in Australia and where I live, as there isn't any problems with dirty power supplies like in the US and Europe.
But the cable sounds good better than my old Cabletalk 3.1 bi-wire and cheap too $14 @ metre compared with $20 for Cable Talk.
I'm nearly sure that you just have to undo a screw on the back of the Rotel and wrap this earth wire around it.- Bottom

I never heard of these wires and why did you buy them?
How do they sound compared to what you own now?I wonder why you have to ground the wire......never seen that in all my years in this bussiness.
Strange.......
If they call for a ground, then ground them at the amp as you suggested.I don't know what it will do but I would try it both ways and listen to some really setailed music.See if this "ground" works or not.
I would like to read your results.

They are made in Sweden the web site is called ( jenving.com/ ) they really sound great compared to my English made Cable Talk 3.1 and also I have Audioquest Indigo. It is cheap for us Ausies to buy only $A14 @ metre compard with about $A30 @ metre for my Audioquest, and to my ears it sounds very open and neutral.
The earth strap I don't think I will bother with it's too much mucking around, anyhow I don't think I get any RF interference where I live.
You can see reviews on the cable under the Hi Fi Choice magazines web site,it's a English publication.- Bottom
