Simple Question about rsp-1066
Does the RSP-1066 have 7.1 out connections??

I hope this will answer your question. As far as I can see, the 1066 has preouts for two back centers (CB1 / CB2), so 7.1 should be available. Only the multi-inputs seem to be restricted to 6.1.Attached Files -

To the best of my knowledge there is no 7.1 source material. DD EX and DTS ES are both 6.1, the extra channel in 7.1 is not a discrete channel, it is derived from the CB channel. Hope I'm making sense.
If the original question meant "can I have a a 7.1 speaker setup with a RSP 1066" the answer is yes.Comment

I have owned the 1066 (which has 7.1 capability), and have upgraded to the 1098. The 1066 is a very good processor indeed, but the 1068/1098, provides the most updated technology.
If you are considering 7.1 channels, you may need to consider the 1068. I have 1098 with 7.1, DoProIIx, and the acoustics are wonderful :T . Your mileage of course may vary. Test and compare.

Hi all, I am in the process of waiting for my new 1066 to arrive. I asked the dealer to get the upgrades done for me and they are sending it to Rotel.My question is this: if they put the latest version on, does that cover all the previous versions ..thanks Rotellions -
This may be addressed below, so I apologize if this is redundant and/or just plain ignorant. In reading many of the threads below, I see that you can assign certain modes to certain input devices. My question is: does the 1066 have a setting for "Auto" or autodetect? I am using my dvd player... -
How does one set up a 7.1 system using the 1066? Would you hook the system in this fashion:
Front L&R
Rear L&R
CTR1
CB1
CB2
If this is the case, are the rear speakers now placed on the sides and CB1 and CB2 placed behind the user? Sorry for asking... -
Finally just finished my HT upgrade (for this month anyway), and I've got the 1066 now w/ the 195 amp and Paradigm Reference all around. Much to my dismay though, I am experiencing the popping sound from my speakers that was mentioned a little bit below. It happens whenever I change any of the settings...

Here is my problem:
By this weekend I will have 3 component video sources (DVD, HD Cable, and XBOX) however for a direct connection my TV only has 2 component jacks
How do I go about using and connecting the 3 sources to the 1066 and utilize component video switching
