Even though I didnt get any new Rotel gear I did get a new TV which lead to a new (DIY) TV stand which lead to a new configuration of my equipment. Formerly it was stacked veritcally and now is mostly horizontal. So I am using that as an excuse to post new pics.

I finally managed to setup my new HT configuration; see the attached pictures. I am quite curious what you think of it;-)

Very nice. One suggestion: have you considered not placing the pre and disc player above the amp for heat purposes? I know the amp is a little heavy to put on top. You might put the pre and player on the bottom with a shelf above them for the amp. I know the shelf will slightly detract from the look but it will keep the other components cooler.- Bottom

Gianni,
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it;-)
The good thing is that the amp never gets warm, even when stressing it for a longer period. So heat is absolutely no issue for this setup;-) The top device is a radio (RT-1080) and doesn't get warm either.

Here is my final setup
Well after doing A LOT of research and saving my money before i head off for training in ROTC at my new college I was lucky enough to have some great local guys and one great shop to help me pick out this system.
System specs:
B&W 704's in Cherry
Rotel RCD-1072
Rotel RA-1062
Golden Sound Pad for CDP and AMP vibrations
PS Audio Power Cord Xstream Prelude SC x 2
Van Den Hul D-102 III Hybrid Interconnects
Audioquest 8's speaker wire with fork terminations biwired to 704's
This is my first Hifi system and I really understand now when people use all that freakin tech jargon like "Musicality, Open, Airy, Fluid, Attack, Decay" and all that other crap haha.
Ive increased my music selection by a lot which includes ALL of Pink Floyds unremastered cds with the exception of The Wall. Steve Miller Band, The Kinks, The Doors, Eagles, Robert Palmer, Roger Waters single, SteppenWolf, Byrds, Jefferson Airplane, The Young Bloods.
This system works wonders together and the music really is "In the Middle" as my salesman says. The midrange is fantastic and imaging is completely convincing. Best of all I can listen to it at louder levels and not have it give me a headache as my previous system did to me.
Enjoy! I know I am.B&W 704's in Cherry

Where's you get the stand for the 1098? I imagine that's a center channel stand, but definitely a cool idea and well put to use! :T
The stand is a short Atacama Nexus stand.
But in the near future there will be a new furniture for my audio and TV with the center speaker under the TV.
No ... it's a real High-End television Grundig Lenaro.Originally posted by AudiophiliacIs that a Loewe I see there? I love mine!
The image is real great ... i never seen it on any LCD or Plasma (even the new ones).- Bottom

Latest Pics
Here are the latest pictures of my system, in the room we refer to as the "Loft Theater" (the first perspective shot shows why...).
Latest additions include the Rotel RLC-1040 power conditioner, as well as a Sony BDP-S1 blu-ray player and Zektor MAS7.1 switcher. The Zektor provides switching for up to three HDMI video sources and three 7.1 analog audio sources.Brad- Bottom

Yes, I am. It has its minor quirks as with any new technology (e.g., slow startup times, etc.) but overall it is very impressive. The picture it outputs is better than I've ever seen; better than what I was used to on the best HD television channels. And now I'm finally getting the best sound it is capable of, too, since it supports Uncompressed PCM, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby TrueHD. I'm also quite impressed with Sony's ability to put out regular firmware updates to make sure that it keeps up with the latest technologies.Originally posted by vlasisHallo blindamood........I want to ask you something? Are you satisfied with Sony bluray player? :W :W :W :WBrad- Bottom

Classicman, very nice. I was wondering why you had that light there. Nice. Does it give off blue light or just look that way in the photo?
What effect did your room treatments have behind your speakers in the corners? Are they foam/egg carton type treatments?

the acoustic foam (not the egg caton type) helps in treating my small room, it's very cheap & easy to install

Yes the 1068 gets quite warm in and around the power supply(s)/ processor area.
Bear in mind if you feel the heat, the aluminum sinks are doing their jobs and the heat is being dissapated. Follow Rotels recomended clearances and you will be fine.
BTW, very nice looking set up......- Bottom
