    Lekker GEZELLIG! Mooi!

Wow, incredible house and set up. Ik won in Amsterdam voor een jaar.

Your pictures bring back so many great memories of when I lived in the Netherlands. Your HT room is amazing, I hope it doesn't get cluttered over time. Your Kitchen also looks great, although a little off topic.

    Ik mis het Nederlands.

Enjoy your system and 'de groeten'.

Thanx for the nice comments guys, the HT is my baby

@weijst: Yeah I really like the black Nautilus, wouldn't want to have it in another colour. Good to see more dutch on this forum

@astravitz: Hey m8, good to hear you liked living in amsterdam so much, I'm not living far from it myself allthough I hardly go there at all, unless I'm forced I'll try to keep the HT tidy for you

Looks pretty good! Doesn't it get warm/hot inside the cabinet?

iculookn - sweet setup. What is the box next to the 1098? And no not the 1075.

Yes, it does get hot in the cabinet. Trying to work out how to keep it all cool as there is also a xbox hiding in one of the draws plus a HTPC going into one of the other draws.

So Im thinking if installing some cooling fans in the rear, with a new easy access rear door.

Nothing on the site .. but its super easy to do...

                                  1. Order the glass - 3/8" for everthing but the 1095, for that one I used 1/2". when you order ask then to dry sand one edge. This will give the lighting effect you want.

                                  2. Buy 12v super bright LED's. I went to the local electronics store (Future Shop).

                                  3. You can hook them up to your htpc 12v or any 12v source. I used an old computer power supply. I also put in a relay and let the 1098 trigger turn them on and off... nice option.

                                  4. I also recently added a pot to control the brightness .. so I can turn them low or off to set the mood for the scarey movies!

                                  That's it!

PiDD, thanks for the info! Just curious, how did you wire the Computer PS...I guess I'd have to find a pin layout for the connectors on it to turn it on and off. Can you send me a little info on how this is all done. I'm decently electrical savy, but haven't messed around with a Computer Power supply (besides installing them).

Thanks for your help in advance!

I wired it to stay on all the time. I put a relay after the power supply to switch some external fans and the LEDs.

To do this you need to short the PS_ON pin by connecting a wire between the PS_ON pin (pin 14, usually the green wire) and any black Ground pin.

                                      Hope this helps.

I like the lights as well. I bought a Schroers & Schroers Lambda rack for my Theater Room. I opted for clear glass that lights up Green, but they also have blue and yellow glass. Most people seem to like the way it lights up.

Thanks PiDD............I bought the "slinky" cable holder as well, but I have way too many cables to get inside that thing!!!!

Also, I have too many pieces of a equipment and not enough shelves, so I'm doubling up!!

I had to do the same thing with the double up. And cables... I would have to say about 60! + about 15 more for the projector!

I ordered about 25 cables for round one of the big clean up. They should be here next week.

PiDD, thanks for the info, might be a weekend project since I have two older 250Watt power supplies just laying around. Might be picking up some relays and LEDs and seeing what I can come up with!

I can't wait to see how you clean that all up. I'm good with wires, I run mine all pretty much professional looking (been doing that for a long time, the anal-retentiveness in me I guess). But it doesn't look toooo bad as it is now. At least to the amp it looks good, the HTPC and down looks a little messy.

Hey PiDD, awesome setup. Like the way you have constructed your HT rack.

Can you tell me how and where the relay should go for it to be activated by the 12Vtrigger on my 1056. I am trying to add a cooling fan that will run when my 1056 is on.

                                                        Thanks.

Go to the microsoft site and download the image resizer app.

                                                            Thanks Scient.

The relay is pretty easy to wire up. I used the 1098 trigger out to the relay.

Here is a pretty good site that explains it better than I can. Relay Wiring

I’ve been listening to my 3 weeks old new Rotel RSX-1056 and now it’s time for me to make some comment. First of all, the RSX-1056 is a very classy looking and well made receiver. Sitting in the rack it looks really appealing. After the calibration process, fine tuning my entire system and 3 weeks of listening time, all I want to say is, this Rotel RSX-1056 sounded extremely wonderful! Previously I wasn’t sure how much better the Rotel would sound compared to my old Yamaha RX-V1300 but now it’s all cleared! The sound quality difference is easily noticeable, especially when listening to CDs in stereo mode! It sounded much more refined with wider soundstage, more powerful despite it’s only 75 Watts per channel. Like many of you I am able to hear the sound details I never heard before and the high frequency sounded really clear, smooth and sweet.

The sound is great, maybe a little bit too bright, sometimes. The speakers are B&W - 703 (front), 705 (surr), HTM7 (center) and ASW 675 (sub).

Been reading the forum and enjoying. Thought I would post my system. On a special note the cabinetry was hand built by my very good friend, custom for my system. Solid oak, with glass inserts. I would be interested in hearing what fellow distinguished purchasers think.

The amplifier is very good, but I'm picking up a replacement for the pre-amp as the STANDBY button has failed. I also get a strange crackling now and then, which I feel is electrical problems with the pre.

                                                                        Regards,

I got my first Rotel gear last year, and added a 1075 a few weeks ago  . Anyways here is my setup:

Well I have finally moved into my new house, and have setup my room, still a long way to go, getting the room painted this week hopefully and still waiting for prices on curtains, but will keep you guys up to date.

I got my electrician mate to come in and wire the room on 2 seperate circuits, all surge protected and filtered.

I am more than happy with the sound and dont think i will be going to the movies for a long time!

May I make a suggestion though, bring your mains out from the back wall, you will be amazed at how much better they sound. And toe them in towards the listening position a slight bit. I'd bring them out to be equal with the center channel where it is.

If you have time, try it out and see what you think, but I think you're killing the sound with them being that close to the wall behind them.
