        @ Bing Fung

Oops! :B The pictures are available now again. As I said already, I deleted the attachments (don´t ask why), however the pics in full size remained. Therefore I assumed that everything should work fine - of course it did not !

            @ Bing Fung

Thank you Bing for the compliments. The Dynaudio Audience 52 SE are really incredible speakers for their demanded price AND size :T. They only cost half the price of the current Dynaudio Contour S series, but their performance is very, very close to that of the Contour S series. Well, I have to admit that my former B&W 603 S3 speakers (see pictures) are beaten by these Danish "cubes" by far. You can´t image how much bass there is coming out of these speakers.

I also added some pictures taken during the update process. Now, the 1098 is up to date. It seems as if you also like DELL and B&W stuff , don´t you? The only thing I dislike about the 1098 is this clicking of some air-gab switches / relays working inside. Why did Rotel choose those noisy switches? Can somebody comment on this, maybe Andrew? I mean e.g. the 1066 or any other surround amp that I tested before did not make such noise...

The 1066 should have... as far as I know it uses the same expensive mechanical relays that happen to make more noise than cheap ones. Trade-off for a higher quality component

OK, puh, for a moment I was afraid that these relays make so much noise because Rotel used cheap ones So the 1098 uses high-quality relays that are just a little bit noisy, right?

Over the years I have listened to many different brands of speakers.Wilson Audio,Martin Logan,B&W,Sonus Faber,Vienna Acoustics,Energy,Totem, etc and I gotta tell yeah that the Dynaudio lines are the most Impressive to me.

Starting with the Audience line, like the 52se's are just an amazing sounding speakers.I like the 72 and 82.There 122 center is incredible.the amount of reproduced bass is unreal.Clean low and very clear.

If there was a emotional attractive speaker line,Dynaudio is the one.

                  My next upgrade in speakers.

                  Beautiful

                    Hi!

Try listening to the Dynaudio Special 25 and the sun will be shining even in your darkest hour [I should start writing a novel ] But you´ll need at least a RB-1080 or better a RB-1090 to drive them seriously. My RMB-1075 had some problems concerning bass control, sound was a little bit strained (bad word choice, I hope you understand what I mean). That´s not astonishing as the tweeter belongs to the Confidence series, the mid range / bass driver even beongs to the Evidence series (of course with some modifications overall). Unfortunately the Special 25, especially if you need at least 4 of them are a little bit too expensive for me

I agree, Dynaudios look like very fine speakers and the reviews always seem very glowing.

However I'm very happy with my system for now. My B&W 600's have served me well, and as long as they serve me for more years to come, thats all I expect. They sound good enough for me, although they don't play as loud as I would like at times (maybe my next speakers will require at least 10" drivers :B ), They do respond well to the 200W from the Rotel 1080.

I use a sub with my music so the bass output is sufficent for music. I actually have the dense foam in the rear port to roll of the bass response at the higher frequencies :B

I do like Dell Laptops, but thats about it... It's not like I'm a huge fan of Dell. B&W speakers on the other hand... I love'em all. I totally covet a set of N802s, N803s 8)

To my mind, the B&W CM series seems to fit perfectly into your room. The CM series is still the best looking series if one asks me, even better than the 700 series.

But where are your rear speakers? Is that a Yamaha subwoofer next to your sofa?

Well, I changed my B&W speakers because I came to the conclusion that they were the bottle neck in my system. However, I will keep them. When I put the Dynaudios into my room, I could experience the superiority of the 1098 over my former Yamaha AZ2 surround amp for the first time. After I made that experience, I wanted to have the 1098 at all costs (costs were 5 weeks of waiting and about 3500 Euros). Now, I am very pleased with the result. By the way, why did you choose a black 1098 and a bi-coloured 1080? Any reason for that?

PS: Yeah, the Nautilus series. What about buying 5 times the awesome looking original Nautilus? I just made a plan to break into Fort Knox

Timeslip, very nice indeed :T Thats a great looking space 8)

Wolfenstein, you and I think a like. I have often postulated a set of older 802 Matrix B&Ws just because I know they could play to the rock concert levels I so desire (from time to time), unfortunately I will need a bigger room/house for that plan to work.

Sure they aren't as sexy looking as the newer smoother Nautilus line, however they still sound great! I had a work mate that owned a set of these, and I have loved them since!

The reason I went with the mix n match components is becasue I like the look of black components.

Rotel does a nice job of silver, and a rack of all silver Rotels is impressive looking in a stylish sense. However to me Black looks more mean and business like. It is my preferance. The Silver consoled amp is functionally a black component ,however with the small silver console, it has that very distinctivley recognizable Rotel look. It also keeps the rack interesting with out moving away from the Black Theme. In person it looks stunning to me and I'm very happy with the way the two look together. I can't wait to add more amps :W

Of course the above comments are just my misguided opinion, we all like what we like. :W

I was rather thinking of these speakers when I said "original Nautilus". Sorry, but I forgot that there had been the Matrix 800 series for a couple of years in the past as well. If I had these really awesome looking speakers, I would certainly spend half of the day with listening to music and the other half with polishing these babies Maybe I would even install a fence around each speaker to keep away my cat. :B

DOH! But of course thats what you meant when you said "Original Nautilus" :B

                                                Those are thee "Nautilus"

They are an art form to be sure. I would sure like to hear a set before I plunked down coin for those puppies. There are a lot of things I would plunks down money for, sound unheard, the Naultilus however, I would have to hear. They are too esoteric and austentatious for me to buy with out listening first. Wilson X1 Grand Slamms? N802s? Sonus Faber Amati's? I would not have to hear before I put my hard earned money down :W

Awesome though, and you want a set of 7? 8O 8O

You are absolutely right. But I assume that people who are able to afford these speakers really don´t have to worry about money, do they? 8)

Another problem would be to find a dealer that spares no effort to install them at one´s home for testing. IMHO it is very important to listen to such expensive speakers (even lower priced equipment) at YOUR home before you buy anything. If a system sounds awesome at the dealer´s shop, this is by no means a guaranty that it will sound great at your home as well.

                                                          Hi!

If found the following information on his web site:
Racks: Sanus Systems Euro Audio/Video Furniture
                                                          www.sanus.com

Or take my rack The distances between the horizontal boards are variable. You can simply choose different lengths of those aluminum tubes to obtain the desired distance. Placing a 1095 into my rack would be no problem.

Well it is not as fancy as some of the setups I have come across here, but this is my first foray into separates. I made the jump from a Yamaha RX-Z1 Receiver to a Rotel RSP 1068 SSP, Rotel RT 1080 Tuner, and an ATI 1806 AMP. I couldn't be happier.

It took me long enough but I finally got my website up and running. Its very novice and I plan to improve it over time, but for now enjoy:

                                                                        My novice HT page

                                                                        Some things to note:

The top shelf on the audio broke the day I got it thanks to my cat. The shelves are tempered glass and it must have took me over an hour to pick up the 1,000,000,000,000 pieces of glass. Somehow he came out of it with no cuts. Its the third piece of my HT equipment he has left his mark on. He is quickly running through his nine lives.

I may be adding a Rotel tuner soon. I dont want to spend that much on one but it sure would look sweet with the rest of the Rotel gear.

I may replace the Def Tech surrounds (not really in the pictures) with the matching 700 series surrounds. Since movies get about 95% of the HT usage I want some dipole surrounds.

                                                                        Comment

As you can tell from the pics, I need to make room on the rack for the new amp. Also, I REALLY miss the 7001's but it was them or a big screen TV and I really wanted the TV. Plus, the B&W's are high on the WAF factor. If and when I get a house with more room then I will get some Def Tech towers.
