    RSX 1055 Redirect Problem

    Hi All,

I posted about this problem a couple of weeks ago but received no responses, so I'll try again.

The problem in a nutshell is:

When you set the 1055 to REDIRECT the front amps to centre back, something unexpected happens:
(keep in mind that the speaker setting for Centre Back only have the options of SMALL and NO)

When I set the Front speaker setting to LARGE the centre rear speakers receive the FULL range signal! (despite the centre rears bing set to SMALL)

    My software level is 2.2.2

I went to my hi-fi dealer and we tested a 1055 with the 2.2.4 software on and it had the same problem.

I don't think Rotel Australia are aware of this problem. Can any-one else confirm my observation?

    Regards
    Poul

You might want to upgrade to the latest firmware version to see if that helps or not. If not let me know and I'll put you in touch with tech support.

Thanks Andrew, there's life out there after all! h

I'm really surprised that no-one else have come across this problem before. You don't use redirect yourself, or you have your fronts set to small?

I don't hold much hope for V225, but I'll give it a bash. I'll let you know how it goes.

(At least rotel fixed my scorched rears under warranty because the amp is faulty)

      Thanks again
      Poul

Just a quick note to let you know that I installed firmware V225 on the 1055 last night. This fixed the redirect problem. Centre rears no longer recive the foll range bass signal when the fronts are set to LARGE.

            RSX-1055 reset problem
            by gillen
My RSX-1055 sometimes reset to factory default preset, so I must reenter the parameters again.
I sent to Rotel service and after a month they returned me with no problem verification.
            Anyone knows this problem?
            Thank you

            RSX 1055 Redirect Problem
            by Poul
            Hi All,

My Centre rear speakers got cooked the other day!

I'm not sure if I have a problem with my amp or I have set someting up incorrectly; here goes:

In my set-up I power the centre, the surrounds and two centre rear speakers from the 1055 and I have a...

Is there a sonic difference between a Rotel RSX-1055 and Rotel RSX-1550?
            by hockey_101
Thinking about picking up a Rotel RSX-1550. I currently have a RSX-1055. Just wondering if there will be a sonic difference between the two? I know the 1550 is newer, which has hdmi but I am mainly concerned about 5 channel stereo mode. Will there be a sonic difference between the two?
            It looks...

            1065 - big problem
            by Arnold van Oostrum
I have a really big problem with my RSX-1065. It's not easy to explain. I'll give it a try.

For some time now I have a problem with 'pink noise' in the surroundspeakers. It's not really pink noise, but I don't know how to describe it. It sounds like having a bad distorted reception on...

RSX 1055 and problem with Dolby Digital
            by Rcovell
For the second time in two months, Dolby Digital processing wouldn't kick in when I went to watch a DVD. Both times the movies were encoded for DD and the DVD player was set properly. In each case, I had to go into the factory default settings menu and 'start over'. Kind of a pain since it wipes out...
