I picked up my RSP-1066 / RMB-1075 combo yesterday afternoon and started hooking everything up. Haven't had a chance to listen to it yet because I finished hooking up all of the components (and one speaker channel) in the middle of the night. In any case, here are a few comments thus far:
(1) The RR-969 remote control worked fine out of the box by spontaneously stopped accepting any key touch input within a few hours. The LCD is active but pressing any key does nothing. I've already tried pulling the batteries out a couple of time as well as pressing the recessed Reset key, all to no avail. What happens is the remote will actually reset but then only accept one key press before locking up again! I'm going to bring it back to my dealer this afternoon. ARGH!
(2) My RSP-1066 (bought new in sealed factory box-in-box) also came with a display screen that had a few scratches on it and the top left is chipped as well! It's only cosmetic, of course, but I'm concerned that this will be deemed by my dealer as "excessive wear & tear" if I go back within a year to take them up on the full-purchase price trade-in for a RSP-1098. I will, of course, discuss this my dealer as well...
(3) I now see why people want to upgrade to the more recent version of the Firmware because I also can't stand seeing the Record Out Source on the front display. It just seems to make more sense to volume level there to begin with. Had the dealer order the cable for me from Rotel, who told him that it would be send via 2-Day shipping.
That's about it for now.
