      but don't buy Rotel 1060

unless you are sitting really far away from it. The drive unit are just too loud. I hear it allmost all the time ... One weird thing. The loudness are descending. So track 1 will make the driveunit sound really loud, track 2 a little less and so on and track 15/15 would be quite ok, but still to loud for high quality gears.

Although, the sound from it is really good, I can use it as a CD-player without finding it to weak for that.

        Dear Dave,

Are you sure you do not have a problem with your RDV-1060. I can only hear mine when I am really close to the unit and compared to my old player (Denon 2800) there is not much difference.

        Regards,
        Olaf

When having abnormal loud drive noise, I should send the unit back to Rotel for re-calibration of the drive.

Another cause can be that the drive in not set 100% in balance in your audio rack, have you checked that ??

PAL / NTSC switching problems on 1098
              by Kees
I have encountered a problem when switching between sources on my RSP 1098. When I switch from watching an NTSC DVD (progressive scan component video input) to PAL video (S-video input), the component output from my 1098 is monochrome (black & white)!
I can 'reset' this by entering the menu...

For those interested in a DVD player that can be modded for multi-region play and already possesses PAL/NTSC conversion/playback, there is a mod chip hack for the JVC XV-S60/62/65 DVD player.

I obtained the mod chip from a guy who mainly hangs around the AVS forum (go there and do a...

              Another subject on PAL/NTSC.

I know that PAL shows a better resolution. Do specific DVD's utilize PAL and other NTSC? Do most do PAL? When I flip the switch on my Rotel 1060 DVD player the picture is normal one way, and split screen the other.

DVD player with progressive scan for under 300 Euro.
              by ck_atlantic
              Hi,
I just bought a video projector and now I want to buy a dvd player with PAL progressive scan and component out. I do not want to spent more than 300 Euro. I am thinking to buy the Philips DVP720SA or the JVC XV-N412 or the TOSHIBA SD530. Of course, I prefer to have capabilities like mp3/jpeg/+-RW,svcd,...

Seeking a PAL to NTSC-capable DVD player
              by JazzGuyy
I am interested in obtaining some foreign films on DVD which will be in PAL. I would like to find a DVD player that converts PAL to NTSC so I can use it with my U.S. spec Mitsu RPTV. I know about the Oppos but they only do PAL to NTSC through DVI/HDMI. I have an older set that only supports component...
