    Used Rotel gear

I looking to up grade DVD players and all I seen on rotels web site is the rdv 1060 and 1080. they sound like excellent dvd plaers, but out of my price range right now. E-bay does not have a good selection right now. Does anyone know of any other models or other places to look on the web?

What TV do you presently own? Does it do progressive scan? Do you want SACD or DVD-A support? And finally what's your budget?

Thanks for the web site vdmai. I will check it out. Andrew to answer your questions. I have an old samsung tv it just has composite in & out on the back side. It does not do progressive scan. My budget is 2-3 hundred. On to the dvd-a or sacd I need to read more on both formats to see what will work for me. who knows which will be around in three to four years. :? I an using a sony dvp-s330.

One more question, why do you want to upgrade your DVD player? since your TV takes only composite (not even an S-video) and it is old, I would keep the DVD player, until you upgrade your TV. I do not think you will get that much improvement in terms of picture with a new DVD player. Sound improvement is a different story though.

As for DVD-Audio and SACD, good players are over $500.00 at this time.

Thanks for the advice mazuly. you are right about the tv. I should throw it out and start with that first. It would be nice to have S-video capability.

I have written a simple VB program to control certain Rotel gear via the RS232 interface, available on my highly polished web site here http://www.sbarnard.nildram.co.uk/ :alol:

Its not quite complete, there are a few buttons missing and the display can get corrupted sometimes. I'm...

              Deep Web (2015)
              by bigburner
The deep web is an invisible part of the World Wide Web. Its contents are not indexed by standard search engines. The deep web is many hundreds of times the size of the visible web.

The title of this documentary is misleading because it isn’t really about the deep web but rather about...

              by Lex
Folks, until further notice, my web presense during the day will be practically non-existent due to work transfer into "boiler room" situation. This sucks, I know, but nothing I can do about it unless I get the new position I applied for or CAT goes public, lol.
