    7.1 questions with Rotel

    Hello,

I'm nearing the completion of our new family/ht room. I ended up using Triad speakers for the front 3 as well as the 2 side surrounds. For the back surrounds I am using 2 Niles in-ceiling speakers.

I plan on getting a Rotel 1066 and 1075 amp. The 1075 would obviously power the front 5 speakers. Could I use their 2 channel stereo amp (I think it is a 1050) to power the rear speakers??

I'd like to be able to swing the new 1098, but I'd better plan on the 1066 for now

    Thanks!

    Hi Scott,

    Welcome to Club Rotel.

RB-1050/1070 would be fine. I personally would go with 1070 since it is almost the same power as RMB-1075. I know people will say that you might not need that much power for the rears (and they may be right), but IMO, in 5.1 discrete you may need it specially with something like DVD-Audio or SACD. Also you can get RSX-1055/1065 and RMB-1075 and then you have 10 channels of amplifications.

      Rotel RMB 1075, first impressions

The Rotel RMB 1075 is replacing my Parasound HCA 85A, which pumps 85 *5. I was happy with my setup but wanted an additional amp to drive my back surround. I originally wanted to get a two channel Parasound so everything would match. When I went to one of my local Parasound dealers, the sales guy stated...

      ROTEL 1066/1075 vs. 1055/1070
      by doodleboytoy
I am strongly considering Rotel for my new HT setup due to the numerous positive reviews I read about it. Currently, my plan is to run Paradigm Studio 60 fronts, Studio CC and Studio ADP surrounds using either a Rotel 1066 + 1075 set-up or a 1055 set-up in a 25’ x 20’ room.

      1070 or 1075 with 1055?
      by Alex Prosak
Hi all, I'm hoping to joing Club Rotel in the near future but I'm trying to figure out which way to go. Please consider that going with Rotel will exceed my original estimate to my wife by about $1k which will be a big deal. Also, 7 channels of amplification is a must. What I'm trying to figure out...

RB-1080 or RB-1070 power amp to purchase?
      by thyname
Hi guys: As I am thinking more and more to upgrading to separates, I came to a question of whether should I consider a 2 Ch RB 1080 or RB-1070. I initially thought of just purchasing 1070 as it is USD 300 cheaper and I think 130 W per channel is more than enough. However, I know that 200 per channel...

      1055 plus 1070 or 1066 plus 1075
      by Glen1
      Hi guys,
I can't decide which would be the best way to go. I've read that 1066 is much same as 1055 bar tuner and amps. I'm considering 1066 plus 1075 five channel or 1055 plus 1070 two channel for front. Excluding 6/7.1 are there any advantages/disadvantages of either system and opinion...
