Anyone know anything about Rotel's latest DVD player? My dealer says its coming out in March, model RDV-1060, will retail for $900, and that, musically, it outperforms comparably priced CD players.

A comparably priced CD players, would be a REGA planet. Guess what? the Rega CD player is one of the best CD Players in that price range. There is no way the RDV 1060 will even come close based on simply cost per function vs what it does.Originally posted by lerouge

$800 = REGA Planet ( the price can range $900 to $700 low even)
+$400 CD Transport stage
+$400 for DACs (2 channels)
or
$800 = RDV-1060
+$400 CD/DVD Transport stage
+$200 for DACs (6 channels)
+$100 for DSP/Decoders
+$100 for Video
That is just an example but you get the Idea.
Sorry but your dealer is just trying to make a sell.

I see Rega has release a new planet. Anyone heard/seen one? Does Rega have a website yet? I don't have much information on it. I've been quite happy w/ my 1998 Planet.
I think they also re-did the Jupiter/IO into a one-box solution - is this true?

Final Labs Duramas!

These CD players sort of strike me visually, and honestly, likely won't be able to audition either in my system without just buying it. I can see a new Planet locally, heck, maybe a Jupiter too if I call the Importer who is local.

My RDV1060 came back from Rotel with an exchanged tray. When I put in a DVD or CD, it takes like 10 secs for the disc to load. This was a matter of 2-3 secs before. What have they done to it?

I just sold 2,200 unwanted records for $400! i dont want to spend that little on a amp, since i dont think something like a RB-1070 will be sufficent.
