Anyone know how to reset a RC-1070?

I'm looking at buying one from a guy who wants to unload it for cheap because it is "stuck in Standby mode". I was thinking I would head over there and try a few things, including a hard rest and hopefully score myself a new preamp!
    Any ideas are much appreciated.

Not seeing anything in the manual, and given its a pretty basic device with no real setup I'm not sure there is one.

      Found this on the Internet:

How do I reset the RA-1070 or RC-1090? | Rotel
      rotel.com/faq/how-do-i-reset-ra-1070-or-rc-1090
This can be done by powering off the RA-1070 or RC-1090, then pressing and holding the following 2 buttons on the front panel – Listening Select PHONO and Recording OFF. Power the unit back on while holding these 2 buttons and the unit will be reset to its factory default settings.

Nice! Maybe it will work on the Rc-1070.

The RA-1070 and RC-1090 both have displays and programmable digital microprocessor settings. Like you originally said, because the RC-1070 is a basic analog unit without those features, it's unlikely that reset procedure would apply to it.

              Go from RC1070 to RC1090 or RC1082?
              by Jnorth1178
I presently have the RC1070 and like it very much. Have the chance to get the discontinued RC1090 at good price. Will I see an appreciable sonic improvement in that upgrsde? Or, would you wait for the upcoming RC1082 and would anyone know at this point if the upgrade will mean better sound? I hear...

              Hello

I just picked up a RC1090 from Audiogon, the unit is in excellent condition and sounds very nice. I had an RC1070 before which always seemed a bit bright to me, the RC1090 is very smooth.

Anyway the one small downer on the deal is that the seller failed to mention...

Anyone RC1090 users happy with the phono stage on the pre? I recently purchased a Rega P5, Exact2 cartridge and TTPSU (power supply unit) but have yet to hook up - need to rearrange. Just wanting some feedback on the quality of the phono stage. When I bought my first pre, RC1070, I bought because...

              Hi All.

I just stumbled onto this forum and I'm just thrilled to find it!
It has been a great experience reading thru some of the posts.

FRQ DIR problem on RR1050 remote
              by zpanky
Recently, my RR1050 remote has displayed "FRQ DIR" and no buttons work. I tried pressing the reset, preload and clear buttons, but only the reset seems to do anything. The LCD screen flashes, but the same message keeps coming up. Has anyone encountered this? Any suggestions?
