    Rotel RCX-1500 (software update - unit died)

    Hi there.
    Rotel RCX-1500 cratered during software update from V1.15 to V1.23.
    Was running "ymodem" upgrade manager and switched RS232 cable with DB-9 to RJ-45 and unit just powered off / died (no standby light) tried hard power reset to no avail.
    Checked mains fuse and it is intact.
    Tried different power cable and outlet all with no result. Unit will not power. Standby light will not come on.

    All actions are done in accordance with the instructions: "RCX1500_Main_Update_Instructions.PDF"
    My connection: USB to COM1 -- COM1 to RJ-45.
    Baud Rate - 115200
    Parity - N
    Valid Data Bits - 8
    Stop Bit Value - 1
    Handshaking - None

    On the Internet I found similar problems in other Member Rotel RCX-1500 (but I have not found the solution).

    Please help me to solve this problem remotely.

      Today when I started manually turning on my Rotel Combo, as usually do, RSP-1066 only showed the blue power lamp, but no information on the display.

      At first I was convinced that it was in standby mode, but later using the remote control, I tried without success to switch the unit on...

      After not touching it for a long time, I thought I might just tweak the bass levels on my three way active dipole. Prior to fiddling, I turned the DCX off, and then back on.

      Instead of a cheery welcome screen, I now have a unit that merely gives a dim pulsing screen with no characters...
