I think my RSX-1057 Died... Any suggestions?

Well I came home tonight and went to turn on my receiver and I hit the front panel button and the unit would not turn on. The blue light was not on. There was power going to my RLC-1040 Line conditioner. Unplugged it from the line conditioner and plugged it into the wall. Still no blue light. Plugged it back into the line conditioner. Turned off the master switch and back on again. Blue light came on and then the unit turned on and then off again. Random series of turning on and then turning itself back off. Unplugged the 12vt lead to my RMB-1075, still no dice.

    Any suggestions?

How it's hooked up. Power goes from the RLC-1040 to the RSX-1057 and using 12vt trigger to RMB-1075 amp.

Rotel's warranty is pretty good....when did you buy it?

I just pulled the receipt and I purchased it on 8-50-2007. Dang, I was hoping it was within a year so I could not be without my home theater. Oh well.

On a side note, I unplugged the unit for 15 minutes, plugged it back in and it worked and then shut off after 15 minutes. Weird, I don't think it's getting hot because I'm not using the amp portion at all and while it was on it was on very low volume levels.

What was the date again?? I'm assuming 8-xx-06.. You can get a b-stock replacement in year two, so you don't have to send it off.

Even though you aren't using the amps inside, it does sound like the problem is in that. Some form of internal short is putting it in protection mode.

          I thought Rotel's warranty was 5 years?

Edit: I see you were wanting to swap it for a new one and not send it off. Also I see you purchased yours at almost the same time I purchased mine.

            Rotel Warranty Question???

Instead of starting a new thread i decided to post in here.

On my RSX-1057 the optical door broke off when disconnecting one of the optical cables. Now it no longer stays in place. It's been less than a year since i bought it. The dealer where i bought it from is willing to repair the issue which will take 2-3 days, however I was wondering it this would be grounds for a new replacement instead???

If it is, my dealer is saying that i have to pay for shipping to Rotel NA. Is this a valid claim on their end? I was under the impression there would be no cost to me???

            Please advise.
            TIA

You really want a whole new unit for a broken optical input door? Personally I would prefer to stick with a working unit than gamble on a whole new one.

I know, but i have to question the repair center as they already tried fixing it to no avail and are waiting on advice from Rotel. I rather play it safe if it is in the cards.

                Any others...

                    Rotel Power Conditioner RLC 1040
                    by sskim
I just picked up RLC1040 this past weekend and got it all hooked up Saturday morning. I have 50" Pioneer plasma, Rotel RSX1057, Rotel RDV1050 and an old VCR. I'm not expecting any improvement in sound or PQ, but just looking for the peace of mind. Not that I've had any power issues but since...

does the RLC1040 have input and output for ethernet cable?
                    by BlazeMaster
I looked at the specs on both the RLC1040/1080 and the pictures shows that the RLC1040 has conditioned in/outlet for either phone line or ethernet line. I'm more interested in the conditioning for the ethernet cable, but the specs state that only the RLC1080 has the ability to condition ethernet cables....

                    Hi All

Has any of you experienced any audible diffierences ( particularly in lower frequencies reproduction) , when powering your amps through your power conditioner Vs the walls outlets ?

My experience with Classe CAM 600 monoblocks is that Bass reproduction is slightly...

                    Buzzing Classe Amp with 803D & HTM3?
                    by beden1
I hooked up my new 803Ds along with the HTM3S. Impressions & pictures to follow next week.

I had a question and hoped for some advice. I hooked up my Pioneer Elite 82TXS receiver as the pre-pro, a Classe CAV-150 amp (6 channels & bi-amping the front three speakers), along with...

Do you plug your Amp into the line conditioner?
                    by titan7
I just picked up a MC HTS 3500MKII, It has 2 high current outlets with a delay. I keep the AMP power button on and power up with the on button on the 3500. I figure it's protected and filtered. I have the CD and tuner plugged in to the switched outlets on the Pre-amp and I plugged the pre-amp into...
