    Rotel RLC-1040 Power Conditioner Issue

The front display of the unit reads the following:

    FAIL:

    Relay weld

In addition to that the lights for the Line Boost and Line Trim were alternating between each other. I looked in the manual for possible solutions and the only one offered was to unplug the unit and the issue may reset itself. Well that didn't happen, still showing the same message. Oddly everything plugged into it still works but I am guessing its no longer providing any protection. Couldn't find anything online about this. Is the unit essentially dead?

If it is dead can anyone offer a comparable replacement?

It's not quite dead, but the relay that shuts power off if under/over voltage for too long is fused in the on position.

You can still buy the same unit from APC http://www.apc.com/products/resource...ase_sku=H15BLK

I would imagine APC could probably replace the relay for you as well. Worse case you could put the guts of an H15 into your 1040 to keep the Rotel look.

Funny that you mention the APC unit, I just bought one before I read your post (figured the RLC-1040 needed to be replaced). Yesterday I picked up a Panamax MR4300 from Best Buy but when I got home realized that while I could manage with only 8 outlets on the unit I was using 10 on RLC-1040. Also noticed the Panamax didn't have all the features of the RLC-1040 which I need do to old house wiring. That's when I cam across the APC unit you mentioned. Best part is the APC unit seems to be discontinued and can be had for half of what I paid for the RLC-1040. Interesting idea about keeping the Rotel look, I just may try that.

      Thanks for your input!

PS Audio P10... is it worth getting at a really great price?!
        by PewterTA
I have a chance to get a PS Audio P10 Power Regenerator for my system at a really remarkable price. Basically, I inquired about an open box item (was the wrong color for the person) given at about a 50% off... well that was sold already, but the guy is willing to sub in a brand new one shipped to me...

does the RLC1040 have input and output for ethernet cable?
        by BlazeMaster
I looked at the specs on both the RLC1040/1080 and the pictures shows that the RLC1040 has conditioned in/outlet for either phone line or ethernet line. I'm more interested in the conditioning for the ethernet cable, but the specs state that only the RLC1080 has the ability to condition ethernet cables....

        RLC-1040 vs. APC H15
        by MusicMonkey
Hopefully a quick question for everybody: I've read here and in other forums that the new RLC-1040 power conditioner/regulator is "based on" the APC H15.

Does anyone know for sure if these two are literally EXACTLY the same on the inside, just that the RLC-1040 has a different...

2nd RSP 1068 Dead, Any alternatives?
        by bleeding ears
Hopefully someone at Rotel in Australia may read this.

After waiting 3 weeks for it, and then having to send back my first 1068 processor (at my expense) because it had no output signal for the subwoofer or centre speaker, I thought surely they will ensure the replacement unit is working...

Turns out I was hooking my Yamaha rxv-2095 up as a preamp correctly. They sold me a dead amp!
        by BKSinAZ
As most of you know, I just bought a RMB-1095 amp today...new in a sealed box. My first Rotel product. When I took it home, I attempted to hook my Yamaha RXV-2095 receiver up as a preamp to the RMB-1095. I thought I was hooking the Yami up incorrectly, but from reading the post it turns out I was doing...
