    RLC-1040 vs. APC H15

Hopefully a quick question for everybody: I've read here and in other forums that the new RLC-1040 power conditioner/regulator is "based on" the APC H15.

Does anyone know for sure if these two are literally EXACTLY the same on the inside, just that the RLC-1040 has a different face plate?

Or, does the Rotel unit have additional (or upgraded) circuitry, connectors, features, or what have you?

Clearly the Rotel unit is visually more appealing (and matches my Rotel 1090 amp perfectly), but I'm finding it hard to justify if it's absolutely no different than the H15.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Its the exact same thing! You'll pay $50-$100 more for the box from Rotel depending on your dealers discount and if you live in U.S. Otherwise shipping a direct purchase from APC might be a bit pricey outside of the States. If you get the one down from the H15, I believe its the H10 its alot cheaper but can only handle the current to a limited number of components. Less power but all else is the same. A Calculation of your power needs will help you decide if the smaller one will do. For just a CD, Reciever, Sub, and monitor the H10 should work. -Russ
