    RC-1570 vs RDD-1580 with RC-1580

Hello all. I've got a friend coming into the world of hi-fi. He would like to be able to play from his iPhone or his laptop. I'm wondering if he should get the RC-1570 as his pre amp, seen as it has USB capabilities. Or if he should get a classic pre amp (RC-1580) and use Rotel's new RDD-1580 DAC? Is the jump in price between these two options worth it? FYI the speakers he has are B&W CDM 7NT. Thanks everyone!

I was in this predicament myself. I can tell you the RDD-1580 is a better DAC than the one in the RC-1570 as I have compared them. I was orignally going to purchase the RC-1580 and use a PS Audio Nuwave, but they had no more stock of the 1580 as it is now discontinued. The RC-1570's analog section seems to be quieter on paper, but I have not compared the two. I talked to rotel and I was told the new 1570 is very comparable to 1580 as far as the analog stage goes. I would give the tilt to the 1580 if you need a pjono stage though. I liked the RDD-1580 (huge soundstage, very detailed) but the Nuwave (more natural) is better in my opinion. I just picked up the RC-1570 last night and can wait to add the better DAC when I get some extra cash because of its built in DAC. I hope this helps!

      Hi everyone,

Anyone see any new reviews on the new Rotel RDD-1580 DAC? I just see stories but not a concrete review. Although I'm not sure what the release date is though so that may explain the reason. Anyways, the specs show a Wolfson WM8740 stereo dac. Is the Wolfson a DAC standard...

Hello everyone. With the recent information about new Rotel products (i.e. RB-1590), I wish to upgrade all my 10 series equipment to 15 series. I have a couple questions about these two pre-amps.

      1) Is the 1570 (or any 15 series piece) a true balanced design? If they are I'd like to go...

RA-04 upgrade or add a new DAC?
      by richmaxmi
Basically, I have to decide how to spend $1200 on my system (RA-04+Polk floor speakers+Calyx headphone DAC) and get the best bang for my buck. I only use my computer as an audio source now (FLACs, some burned vinyl etc.).

      1) Buy a RA-11/12 plus a M2Face USB/Splif converter and sell the...

      Rdd-1580 dac & pc

Hello everyone. Got a few questions related to using a PC with this DAC, and other related questions. I have a Lenovo W520 4282CS5 ThinkPad. I will more then likely be buying this Rotel DAC. I haven't heard it yet, but it has good reviews, it's in my price range, and I've already got Rotel gear throughout....

      Hi,
I'm considering the RA1570 Integrated DAC/Amp for a 2 channel setup, and possibly to combine it with a AVR for a 5.1 setup in the future. 2ch though is my main priority. My budget is under $2k and have a pair of B&W 683 speakers

However, does anyone have any feedback on how...
