I'm wondering if anyone can help me figure this out.
I'm updating WKHanna's "new" Rotel RSP-1068 with the new firmware and DSP Eprom update.
The DSP Eprom update keeps failing on me, I have the unit powered on in the back and powered on full in the front (per instructions), the update DIP switches are set to off). I'm not sure if it's the computer I'm running it on (sort of what I'm thinking though)... but when I run the program, I select the R98_V3D4.bin file and set the start address (28000), end address (2ffff), device id (a1), and com port (1)... it sees the port okay and wants to write, but when it does it instantly prompts up with
Run-time error '8020':
Error reading comm device.
Now this is a USB to serial as I have no serial ports in the house at all. I'm also running this on an Win7 x64.... and I have tried compatibility mode WinXP-32bit and still get the same issue.
I tried for about an hour to figure it out (well first I had an issue with the com port until I put it on com1, then it got this far.
So in the mean time I tried the firmware update and it went through flawlessly and updated perfectly fine...which is the main thing Bill was wanting done to the unit....
Any ideas from the wealth of knowledge here?!?
