    RB-985MKII Speaker Impedance

Hi guys - I have a pair for 4ohm speakers for the fronts (dynaudio), a pair of 8ohm speakers for the back and a 6ohm mid speaker (dynaudio). I wanted to know if the different impedances would cause any problems for the RB985MKII?

    No.

As long as you are connecting one speaker per amplifier channel and each speaker is of a nominal 4 ohm impedance or higher, there is no problem using speakers with different impedances.

It is always desireable (but not mandatory) that the speakers have similar sensitivity so that the preamp-processor doesn't need to drastically attenuate or boost a channel's signal.

SRB is probably right but your setup seems a bit messy to me!!

        Impedance

In loudspeaker design, impedance is a critical electrical characteristic that directly influences how a speaker interacts with amplifiers and affects the overall performance of the audio system. Impedance is a measure of the opposition to the flow of alternating current (AC) in an electrical circuit. It is represented in ohms (Ω) and varies with frequency in speaker systems. Impedance is essential for loudspeaker design because it influences several aspects:

Speaker Battle: KEF XQ5 vs. Dynaudio Audience 82
        by jbreezy5
This is a review/comparison of the KEF XQ5's with Dynaudio Audience 82's:

I purchased a pair of KEF XQ5's used yesterday for $1,000 from Theatrical Concepts Inc. on Craig's List. They seem to be fully broken in; they lack the typical signs to indicate otherwise. Initially I was not sure...

        rsx1067 vs rsp1068/rb993/rb985mkII
        by JRambo
Hi, I recently read in a home-theater magazine that the Rotel rsx1067 was their first choice in the heavy-receiver class.. How will this receiver compare to a setup with rsp1068, rb993 and rb985mkII, when it comes to sound quality, as the price for these two setups will be about the same..
