    1550 Audio/Video Pass Through

I have a RSX-1550 and was trying to figure out how I can setup my receiver to just pass through the signal from the DVD/BluRay player. I don't want to run my whole system if it isn't needed, and my player doesn't send out simultaneous signals from HDMI and the component/audio outputs at the same time.

I'm wanting to setup my receiver so one video selection of the receiver is for movies and another is for regular/simple videos where surround sound isn't needed.

    Thanks,

    Brian

There isn't a way to do it without turning the receiver on and then switching the HDMI audio to TV in the set up menu. Your best option is to use an HDMI splitter and go into the receiver and TV separately. There just isn't an easier way to do it with most receivers. Some have pass trough's when they are off but not many.

      RSX-1550 & Oppo BDP-95 Blu-Ray
      by wildpanda86
I just picked up an Oppo BDP-95 as I was drawn to the high end DAC's and the fact that it uses a Rotel power supply so it's the closest thing to a Rotel Blu-ray player there is.

Now I'm trying to decide if the Oppo BDP-95 is worth it for use with my RSX-1550 vs just using the BDP-93....

5.1 and 7.1 AVR's are overkill for downsizing. Need Stereo Receiver w/HDMI
      by CRA
We are retired (62) and downsizing. That means we don't need a big 7.1 or 5.1 HT System. Currently we have a very nice 5.2 system (Marantz AV7005 processor, Emotiva 3 channel 200w and 2 channel 300 watt amps, two Velodyne Optimum 12" subwoofers, four Paradigm Studio 100's, a Paradigm CC-590 center...

The Death of HDMI - HDBaseT™ technology?
      by beden1
I read about this first in an issue of Home Theater Magazine (I think?), and I had wanted to post about it at the time, but unfortunately, I just never got around to it. I misplaced the magazine article and just did an Internet search to get information relating to HDVaseT technology. A link to an announcement:...

      HDMI Problem playing through Receiver
      by Wick
I have an HDMI cord going from my Motorala DCT6412 HD Cable box to my Yamaha HTR-6090 receiver, and an HDMI cord going from my HTR-6090 receiver to my 60" Sony Grand Wega SXRD. I will get a brief picture and then the screen goes green and I can still hear the audio from the channel. If I skip...

      RSP 1570 & 3D thru HDMI 1.3
      by thezone
With the new 3d format I understand that it is possible to pass the signal over hdmi 1.3 but I wonder if it is going to be possible to pass this signal untouched thru the RSP-1570. Can anyone comment?

If not surely they could implement a hdmi bypass feature with new firmware?
