    1550 or separates for apartment?

I would like to upgrade my Rotel 1056.
I have been looking at what pioneer has to offer- I am tempted by the Class D ICE of the SC25. (My television is a Pio Kuro and Blu ray is the 51FD)
but i still want to give Rotel a fair shake.
The 1055 seems like the best bet.
I live in a NYC apartment and try to be considerate to my neighbors. I keep volume at a responsible level- in fact 75% of the time I wear Pioneer surround headphones when watching movies!)
That said I would like to have the cleanest sound- at these lower volumes- does it matter if I play through a receiver or separates?

Speakers currently are B&W CM2's, B&W center and cheap HK rear wall mounts.

This is a tough call. I'd lean more towards the RSX-1550 given your speakers and the fact that you're in an apartment. An RSP-1570 and RMB-1565 would sound different because of the amps being a different design, so which one would be better would be up to you. If you like the performance of the RSX-1056 you have, I'll know you'll like the RSX-1550. The amplifier sections are the same but the preamp section, the DACs and the DSP engine are all greatly improved in the new one.

    That's my two cents.

      RSX-1550 to RSX-1560/ 1562?
      by wildpanda86
I have an RSX 1550 with a full 5.1 speaker setup consisting of B&W 683's and it's matching HTM61 center.

I was curious about upgrading to an RSX-1560 or 1562 so I can bi-amp my 683's to get an improvement when listening to 2 channel audio from my CD source (an Oppo BDP-95) & Projekt...

      Rotel RSX1550 problems
      by Willempie
Thanks for having this forum as it is appreciated. I have a RSX1550 that has previously required repairs which involved some amplifier circuit board replacement done at a non Rotel facility. Now I have other issues on which advice of any kind would be appreciated. Outputs for two channel such as stereo...

      RSX 1550 video/audio problem
      by Rockduster
      Hi everyone,

I just purchased a Rotel RSX 1550 receiver. I had the dealer update the 1550 with the latest releases of firmware and software before taking the 1550 home. I verified that the latest releases were installed.

I connected cable box via HDMI to Video 1 and Sony...

RSX 1550 vs RSP-1570 for Pre Pro duties
      by ldgibson76
For a long time, i've been considering replacing my RSP-1069 with the RSP-1570 or a RSP-1572, if I could find it at an obscenely low price which right, now I know is highly unlikely.

That being said, the likely scenario was the 1570, until recently, someone brought the RSX-1550 to my...
