    Rotel Rsx-1055 power up problems

    Hello to everyone,

    Can Anyone help...

    Have a Rotel Rsx-1055 that will not power up.... There is no burning smell from the unit... Although the main fuse was blown... Replaced all fuses and now the unit will not power up... Seems to be in standby mode... I hear a clicking sound and thats all... Not sure if this a common problem or not ... Or what direction I should go in for a repair... Maybe a common board or something.... Looking to test, and repair, don't want to have to send to rotel... any help would be great... thanks

      Main fuse blowing says there's is/was something majorly bad going on.

      Clicking is probably a protection relay cycling on/off.

      This is something for your dealer to repair.

          Have you tried powering up without any speakers connected?

              no, there are no speakers hooked up to it, when trying to power on.... I was thinking could be capacitor board ?????

                  Some of the blown fuse posts seem to have started in early 2004. Has anyone who has blown a fuse managed to go at least 6-8 months without blowing them again and if so did they leave it on all the time, not use trigger or some combination?...

                  Unfortunatelly my A52 amp quit his job three days ago. After watching two movies I switched off my A23 and then the A52. When I switched off the A52 not only the amp but the power for the whole part of the apartment went down. After I restored the power all lights came back...

                  I purchased my new 1080 2 months ago knowing they had issues blowing fuses but with the comfort of 3yr warranty. Couldn't help myself its my 4th piece of Rotel (all from the same dealer). If you are reading this you probably understand, I think it's called blind loyalty.

                  RB-1080 repair and change in sound

                  I've had my RB-1080 repaired. This time not a fuse but a "resistance" (translated from Dutch - hope I'm right..) needed to be changed.
                  Can that result in a different sound ? It is as if the bass is less tight and the sound stays more inside the speakers...
                  Or will some more hours...
