    RSP-1068 replacement...

    Hi guys,

It's been a while since I've posted on the Rotel forum. Nice to see the club is still alive and kicking!

I'm considering a pre/pro replacement, on which I'm hoping to receive some feedback.

I'm being offered a nice deal on a matching Classe SSP-600 pre/pro. However looking at compatibility with the new HD video and audio formats the SSP-600 is just as 'outdated' as my current RSP-1068 and I'm not sure the investment will be 'justified' by a gain in sound quality only.

As the Classe SSP-800 is way out of budget I'm considering Rotel alternatives: the RSP-1069 (which can be found nowadays for interesting prices), the RSP-1570 and soon the RSP-1580, all of which offer compatibility with the new HD formats through HDMI inputs. However as I have no experience with HD sound whatsoever I don't know if I'll be missing out).

I use my system mainly for HT purpose; i.e. digital cable TV / radio and upscaled DVDs / Blu Rays via my PS3. Occasionally I listen to CDs, for which I use my RDV-1050... My speakers are 805S / HTM4S and a soon to arrive pair of SCMS. Sub is a Velodyne SPL1200-R.

Although extra functionality is always welcome, I'm mainly looking for improvement in sound quality. Maybe one of you can share your thoughts?

    Thanx in advance!

high frequency noise / hiss, RSP1068
    by torgelow2005
I'm using the RSO 1068 + RMB 1075 and I'm not satisfied with the noise behavior!

I'm not talking about white or pink noise from the power amp but about a high frequency signal (kHz range, like
tinnitus) mainly from the rear speaker.

I only hear this noise when...

Optimal Hookup from SSP600 to Wyred DAC2
    by Armbender
My Wyred 4 Sound DAC2 has just arrived and I am wondering the best way to integrate it with my system. Mainly from AppleTV to SSP. I have a Cat Cable Glass optical from AppleTV to DAC2 and a pair of StraightWire Virtuoso XLR's from DAC2 to SSP. This was my original plan.

    In the modes...

Just got my 3200, CDP-102 and SSP600. Thanks to Photoman, Rebelman, sikoniko, Kal, etc. who helped me along the way.

Very happy so far. Two channel CD playback is superb, with more extended highs and lows than I ever had. Great detail, very musical, very natural. Played around with...

DAC: SSP600 vs CDP300, which one is better?
    by ryst
A couple of days ago I sold my Krell DVD Standard, don't know why really :??

So the situation is that I have a Classé SSP600, and my question is: Can I live with a CDT-300 or are the DAC inte the CDP-300 much better than those in the SSP600?

I can also mention that the...

    SSP600 passthrough ? ? ?
    by Blue-Eyes
    Hi folks,

We all now that the CP500/700 have a passthrough funtion (change a inputname into SSP) .

I tried it on a SSP600, but it won't work.
I planned a second pre/pro for HD sound, I don't like the bassmanagement of the current BD players.

    Does anyone...
