HI, I already have a RSP-1068; with a std Denon DVD. I'd like to buy a Blue-Ray for the HD Movies. But I'm not convinced to do that, because my 1068 don't have the specific codecs for DTS-HD and TRU-HD; does anyone of you can suggest me an alternative for this, in order to avoid change my currect Rotel Gear and take advantges of them.

If the 1068 takes MULTI-LPCM, then the PS3 will decode for you, but I'm not sure the 1069 supports it, I do believe I'm thinking about the 1069 which I almost purchased because of this feature.- Bottom

The PS3 won't work for your situation if you want to get the lossless audio from BDs since it doesn't have a multi-channel analog output.
There are a few players that do have them and they vary greatly in price. One player that I'd recommend is the Denon BDP-2010CI. It's a very nice BD player in terms of picture quality for both BD and DVD playback. The analog output is also very good sounding and it has proper set up for bass management, speaker distance and channel level. Quite a number of players I've come across don't have proper capabilities for their decoders and/or don't sound as good.
Here is a link to Denon's web site page for it.

Clarification: The PS3 slim bitstreams lossless via HDMI, or you can set it to decode the TrueHD and DTS-HD MA internally to send as LPCM via the HDMI. The PPCM is compressed, but oh so awesome too!Originally posted by hifiguymiThe PS3 won't work for your situation if you want to get the lossless audio from BDs since it doesn't have a multi-channel analog output.

by WI RotelWell it took me all day since my entire system is "in wall" making connections and running cables is worse than waterboarding :M (but it looks darn good). But I completed the swap, now my new blueray player and plasma are through and through 1080p HDMI connected. Compared to upconverting...-

by KyleI've got a bit of upgradeitis.
I've read the specs on the RSP-1069, and I'm not sure that upgrading from my RSP-1068 is the way to go anymore.
Basically, I'm considering buying a DVDO VP50 Pro (I can get a very good price on one), and using that in conjunction with my 1068....-

by TedI'm considering moving from my RSX-1057 (which I love) to separates this year. I'm wondering if there is a big difference sonically between the RSP-1066, 1068, and 1069?
HDMI does not sell it for me, so I'm not too concerned if it does or does not have HDMI compatibility. I have Rotel...-

by biekrxI have been planning to buy an RSP-1069 for a while as I build up my home theater. Unfortunately, cash has gotten a little tighter than I hoped, and I still don't have a surround processor and the only display I have is a 12 year old 27" CRT. I can only fix one of these problems right now and...-

by dooherHave a room I can't do full surround in, so I currently have the Oppo BDP-83se, with the dedicated 2-channel, connected to an rsp-1066/rmb-1075' and I'm thinking doing a modest upgrade to an rsp-1068, or rsp-1069. My question is this, is there a significant difference in the 2-channel audio performance...-
