Yes!
B W Guy,
The 1092 is a beast of an amp. 40 amps of current if memory serves correctly. This would drive almost any speaker you throw at it. I know of someone who recently got a 1092 to drive 802D's. He's quite happy with that combo.
What speakers are you planning to drive this with.
Yes, 1090's are harder to come by. I have had Rotel class A/B and class D amps. Both have worked quite well for me. I also like the size and cool thermals of the class D. A 1092 is much smaller than a 1090. Very flexible to place.
Hope this helps.- Bottom

I have owned a RB1092 and auditioned a RB1090. My opinion is that they sound different...
RB1092 is a bit cut off a highs and depth, very easy to listen to and will probably fit must speakers. Lot of effect but not enough the make ren90 happy, also after while i got tired of the sound and wanted "more"... yes just more...
RB1090 is more revealing, which is both a good and a bad thing. I've only listened to it for a couple of hours so i can't say so much.
I think that if you are willing to spend money, experimenting and are willing to change components you should go for the RB1090, that will give you the best sound in the end.
If you want it simple and just to get good sound you should go for the RB1092.
Best regards

Money no object I would buy the used 1090. Just my opinion.
I just recently bought a used 1090 from a very fussy owner on Agon, and I must say that my system is in a totally different league. I am like you, I love
that big mother sitting in front of me, but what is really important is how the 1090 vs. the 1092 sound. I did demo a couple of the class D at my dealer, and thought that they sounded very good. Did they sound different from the class a/b? YES! Whether it sounds better or worse to you, that is what you have to decide. I thought the class a/b sounded better to me.
I admit my opinion is really not fair because I did not include a Rotel class D
amp in my system, and listen for an extended period of time. That is why I will give them another chance in the future when I take one home. Right now
I think my 1090 will tide me over for a very long time. This is a keeper- Bottom

Another "I prefer class A/B" versus "I prefer class "D" thread. You'll find opinions are passionately split. The bottom line is Rotel have moved most (if not all) of their amp line over to B&O ICE modules, so obviously someone important at Rotel rates them very highly. The question is do you? The D amp's have lots of advantages, and they're undoubtedly the future. If you want that elusive 1090, good luck, otherwise, welcome to the 21 century.- Mike

Hi,
the new models from the Rotel in D class is much better vs. the RB109/91.
@mjb: you have a new Rmb1575 or? and is better vs. your "old" serie 10 in D class. !!
The new Rb1582 (2x200watt) in A/B class will be a interessting ampli bat is a personal choice!
from the Rb1090 and the new 1582 i will go with the more recent 15 serie...
but vs. the D class Rb1572 (2x250w) ICE I prefer this last.....

Style, I've not heard the 1582, but you're right: I have a 1575 which uses the same modules as the 1572. The newer modules in the 15 series do indeed sound much better IMO than the 10 series. I previously had a 1091 and 1092 combo.
Therefore, the 1572 is a very good candidate for stereo use, and probably preferable over both the 1090 and 1092.Last edited by mjb; 09 July 2009, 15:18 Thursday.- Mike

by cjriveraI'm debating getting a 1090 vs 1092 for my N802's.
I searched the old threads, but couldn't find much specifically about the N802's in an A/B test between the 2.
I plan on using them in a 5.1 system with N804's as rears, HTM1 as a center, and powered with a RMB1095....-

by metalloLast weekend I received a RB-1092 that had been used for demo for a price I couldn’t resist, I originally was looking for a RB-1090 but after reading 3 professional reviews (plus reviews of bel canto ref-1000 and other Class D – “manufacturers” with ice) and reading the impressions from users...-

by Joey_VToday, I just got back from hearing the 1090 and 1091/1092 amps duke it out with the BW802D... side by side. I must say, I preferred the RB1090 by a good margin. I thought that the 1090 took better control of the 802D in ALL aspects, from the bass to the diamond tweeter. The 1090 had greater stage...-
