The trigger turns the amp on/off whenever you turn a preamp or receiver to which the amp is connected on or off. This saves you the trouble of having to turn the amp on or off separately. You connect a trigger cable that has a 1/8" mini phone plug on both ends between the amp and preamp or receiver.

        1066 and 12v trigger
        by vfrjim
I was reading the FAQ on Rotels website and it states that you need a 1/8" Mono cable to send the 12v to trigger a amp turn on, but after testing with a multi meter, I had NO voltage being sent and my amp would not turn on. I then proceeded to grab a 1/8" stereo cable and tested it with a...

Using 12v trigger to run accessory fans
        by cmr15
I've got a 1067 which runs rather hot, and I'm aware that that's the norm. I'm about to place it in a custom wall unit and need a little info regarding the use of fans and a 12v trigger.

What I'd like to do is use 2 accessory computer fans to circulate the air. One would pull in air...

        12V trigger question
        by Zinje
        Hi All,

I now have the Rotel 1075 and had a question regarding the 12v trigger. When I turn on the receiver the 1075 turns on also. I hear an audible click and all the front circuit lights turn on then fade out. Same thing happens when it shuts off. Is this normal? Also... is the...

Rotel RMB-1075 and Denon AVR-3808ci trigger problem
        by OakIris
I don't seem to be able to get my Denon receiver and Rotel power amp to play nice together when I attempt to use the 12V trigger to power up the amp. I have a Radio Shack 3.5 mono cable for the trigger cable. The cable goes from the Denon trigger out to the Rotel trigger in, as it should. When...

Bizarre Noise When trigger cable is connected to 1068
        by InTheRed
First off, I am a new Rotel owner as of 12/24. I unexpectedly got a 1068 and 1075 for Christmas. Pretty freaking cool.

I spent half of yesterday hooking it up. Unfortunately, about 15-20 seconds after firing the 1068 up it began to make a very bizarre noise. It sounds mechanical, like...
