I had the same problem. You need to unplug the HDMI cable in order to see it. If that does not do it, try selecting the MULTI input source before pressing MUTE.-B&W: 803S, HTM4S, M-1
-Proceed: CDD, PDP, PRE, AMP-2, AMP-3

Here is the one that I bought from Amazon:Originally posted by TommyVI cannot find a Belkin USB to Serial adapter (Why Rotel have you not updated this method?). Here is what I did find. It seems to have good reviews unlike many adapters I see where the drivers do not work etc. Even says it works with Vista which my notebook is.

What do you think?
And it worked fine for my 1069 upgrade with XP.-B&W: 803S, HTM4S, M-1

OK well HDMI and composite are two different things. Am I looking for this on the TV or the unit display. I have three HDMI's plugged into it. The composite I rigged up on Eric's suggestion.- Bottom

It will show up on the TV not on the unit. For some reason the audio version only shows up on the TV with only the composite (I think S-video will work as well) and not on the front panel like the main and scaler. As Tim suggested, unplug the HDMI from the monitor out on the RSP-1069 (and switch inputs on the TV) when you do this and you should be good.

First off, thank you for the suggestion. My laptop is Vista (64bit) so that adapter unfortunately will not work for me according to multiple reviews written. I am planning on starting a thread about what adapters people have used people have used sucessfully to update their processors/AVRs.Originally posted by timjclarkHere is the one that I bought from Amazon:

Thank you Tim & Eric for attempting to help me do this. Here is what I have tried now. Put the unit in standby. Unplug the HDMI monitor out cable that goes to the plasma, power on and still nothing on the screen when I hold down mute. Just the same two versions flash on the 1069 display. I know I have the composite cable connected correctly because I am able to bring up the OSD but nothing flashes on the screen when holding mute.Originally posted by hifiguymiIt will show up on the TV not on the unit. I still have my three HDMI sources plugged into HDMI input 1-3. Could that be the problem? I would like to confirm this, I wonder why I am having this difficulty. If mine is a late model that had bypass, 1.47, and 1.1.8 out of the box, what are the chances it has audio version 1.1?
I would still love to figure out why I can't get it to come on the screen. What is next? S-Video? Component? Do I have to unplug everything from the back of the unit?? 8O
Thanks for the help guys.- Bottom

I just posted to another thread about this but for a clarification I have a 32bit Vista laptop. The drivers for the Belkin USB to serial adapter may not work with the 64bit version (thanks Microsoft).Originally posted by TommyVFirst off, thank you for the suggestion. by Ken49rI just purchased a JL Audio F110 sub and want to set this up correctly with my RSP-1069 and B&W 805s.
Is it better to use the bass management from the RSP1069 or the separate controls on the F110?
So far, on the RSP1069 I set crossover at 80 and sub level in...-

As a long time lurker and “newbe” member of this forum I thought I’d start a service of managing a list of suggested upgrades to the RSP 1098. Thanks to all the helpful advice from this forum I have my order in for a 1098 of my own (waiting on the DTS-ES issue being fixed)....-

by CidHi,
Recently I discovered that when I play music with lower bass in (PCM) stereo-mode through my 1068 pre, my (new) subwoofer on the LFE-output doesn't support my main speakers. Nevertheless, in Surround-modes, it works just fine. All settings across the various modes concerning the LFE...-

by DmantisWhat's up everyone?
I recently aquired a used M&K sub woofer. It had a bad Phase switch which was causing it to pop. The person I got it from didn't want to get it fixed and decided to get a new woofer.
I took this subwoofer home, fixed the Switch and decided to add it into my system...-
