    Rsp-1066 Osd

I am running component video to my projector (Dish Network and Xbox) and a HDMI cable from the OPPO BDP-83 to the projector. I have an S-video cable routed in the wall between the RSP-1066 and the projector but have never used it.

Here's a quote from the Rotel manual that has kept me from using the S-Video cable (for OSD):

System Set-Up: System setup should be done
while using a Composite video or S-Video cable
connecting the RSP-1066 TV MONITOR outputs
to the video input of the TV or projector.
No other video connections should be made
    at this time.
(emphasis added) Select OSD ( ON-SCREEN MENU)
from the RR-969 remote control to complete
    system setup.

I have always interpreted this bolded statement as meaning don't have any other videl cables hooked up with the OSD is being used over S-Video (or composite). As a result, I have run a composite cable to a 2.5" B&W TV screen sitting by the 1066 for when I want to switch inputs It's a real drag to squint :E at the screen to make the changes.

Does anyone know if there is a technical reason why I couldn't hook up the S-Video while the component cables are hooked up and use the S-Video line for OSD (since OSD won't pass over component)?

    Thanks.

At this time being the key words. I think they wanted to make sure you would get the OSD and not try over component. There's no issues hooking up all outputs of the 1066 at the same time.

Thanks for the reply. I'll hook up the S-Video in the morning.

          rsx-1055 osd problems (HELP!)
          by Jaime
Hello all, I'm having problems with my osd, everytime I press the osd (menu) button, I get kind of a scrambled image of the osd, it looks like electric interference, and then fades to just interference. I have tried changing composite cables, I've tried svideo cables and even changing inputs in my tv....

          Need urgent help with RSP1066
          by keiron99
I've just taken delivery of an RSP1066 (second hand). I've been reading the manual for days before it came, I've researched everything I can on Rotel's FAQ (where it's the number one question) and here but still, try as I might, I cannot get the OSD to display on my TV. I've tried composite, S Video,...

Key Sequence for OSD menus on 1056?
          by fvoelling
          Hi,

I just got a 1056 and have it hooked up via component to a front projector. Video inputs are component (from DVD and X-box) as well. When I press "Menu", nothing happens (on the screen), and it says in the manual that you need to tell the 1056 if you are using progressive...
