I am running component video to my projector (Dish Network and Xbox) and a HDMI cable from the OPPO BDP-83 to the projector. I have an S-video cable routed in the wall between the RSP-1066 and the projector but have never used it.
Here's a quote from the Rotel manual that has kept me from using the S-Video cable (for OSD):
System Set-Up: System setup should be done
while using a Composite video or S-Video cable
connecting the RSP-1066 TV MONITOR outputs
to the video input of the TV or projector.
No other video connections should be made
at this time. (emphasis added) Select OSD ( ON-SCREEN MENU)
from the RR-969 remote control to complete
system setup.
I have always interpreted this bolded statement as meaning don't have any other videl cables hooked up with the OSD is being used over S-Video (or composite). As a result, I have run a composite cable to a 2.5" B&W TV screen sitting by the 1066 for when I want to switch inputs It's a real drag to squint :E at the screen to make the changes.
Does anyone know if there is a technical reason why I couldn't hook up the S-Video while the component cables are hooked up and use the S-Video line for OSD (since OSD won't pass over component)?
Thanks.
