Hi,I have tried going through previous posts but am still a bit confused.I am waiting on the arrival of my RSP1066 and would like to have all cables ready ,so I can start playing as soon as possible.At present, I have S-Video cable from dvd player directly into tv.It seems I now need S-Video cable from 1066 to tv to enable OSD.Is it just a matter of buying another S-Video cable?thanks in advance

Yes you will need to buy another s-video cable or component or composite to be able to view the osd menu on your tv. I have the 1056 and on the remote supplied with it (not sure if it's the same) you have to press the aud button first to be able to view the osd menu. -
1066 didn't have OSD through component. Either Run the video through the 1066 or just run a cheaper composite cable to the TV. IE, if you want to run the video through the receiver, just buy a shorter s-video for DVD -> 1066, then move the old svideo cable so that it goes 1066 -> TV
Otherwise, leave it as is and run a cheaper composite cable 1066 -> TV

When hooking up a progressive scan DVD player, the RSP-1066, and a digital tevevision with composite video: Do you just do composite video from the DVD, to the 1066, then composite to the TV? What are you all doing for this onfiguration? Thanks in advance -

I am running component video to my projector (Dish Network and Xbox) and a HDMI cable from the OPPO BDP-83 to the projector. I have an S-video cable routed in the wall between the RSP-1066 and the projector but have never used it.

I've been told that the OSD info. from the rsp-1066 can only be seen either from a composite or s-video cable, when it's clearer that component video are a better choice for a video signal, how can one use the component output on the rsp-1066 for quality & still get the OSD feature ???

I just replaced my Denon 3802 with a Rotel 1066 yesterday, hooked up to a Rotel 1075 amp. I haven't had much of a chance to listen to it yet but so far it sounds awesome.
