    RSP-1098 Audio/video issue

    Hi

I am hoping someone can shed some light on this issue.

I bought a second hand 1098, and fired it up last week.
It all seems to work fine, except for one strange issue.

I have my dvd player set to 480/576i output, and am using the composite out into the 1098.
I am using a Co-ax digital cable for audio.

When I play a dvd the lcd on the 1098 seems to have a slight jerk to it and the audio through the digital in has break up. Like when you are talking to someone on a cell phone and they go through a short tunnel.

CD playback through the digital in is fine though.

    Its running V2.1 0-031229

Oh and its an OPPO dvd player.

Has anyone else ever experienced this?

Also I have a massive humm when the TV ariel or cable is connected to the LCD TV.
Does anyone know the best way to get rid of the hum?

    Thanks
    GarethK

One thing to try on your hum issue is get a power conditioner like a RLC-1040 or APC H15 and run your coax connections through it. The grounding could get rid of your hum issue.

      by Frank T.
I'm a home theatre dealer from Germany and have just received the new heart of my A/v demo system - the RSP-1098 - this Saturday.

Kudos to Geoff Costello for all the time, sweat and effort on behalf of the RSP-1098. Constructive proposals like his are extremely commendable!

I have a question or two about some faint hum I’m hearing when I get close to the speakers (when both the...
