    Does 1057 does 4 ohms?

I was pretty sure it works with speakers with 4 ohms, but looking at specs., it seems not. Does it or not?

Yes it does. It will get pretty warm if you drive it hard with 4 ohm speakers (it is only 75 watts per channel after all) but it will work just fine.

+1. All the updates to the RSX-1055 (RSX-1056,57.58 ) will handle 4 ohm speakers as long as used within reason. You should be fine if your speaker's sensitivity is not abnormally low, room size is not too large and damped, and normal volume levels are not exceedingly loud.

I was told by Mike at Rotel USA my 1057 would handle 4 ohm speakers.

I'm thinking of updating to Emotiva speakers 8.3 and wasn't if I could hold it for sometime or would need an amp. right away...

I too like TommyV was told by Rotel this was not a problem and my experience supports this. The Emotiva 8.3 at 89db sensitivity should work fine.

              load/ohm question from guitar guy
              by Lex
Jon/others, a guitar guy asked me a question, I guess because I seemed pretty knowledgable about loads and impedence. But I still want to make sure I am thinking right on this...

              Here was his question:

I figure since the amp is rated at a 4 or 8 ohm load,...

              RSX-1057 Temp
              by Redhawk
Bought an RMB-1075 and am using the RSX-1057 as the pre. The 1057 is still as hot as it was when using the amps in it, even though no speakers are now connected to it. Is there a way to turn the amps off in it, or something to do to reduce the amount of heat it is putting out? It's not abnormally hot,...

Can Yamaha Rx-v365(Europe version) drive 8 ohm speakers?I think it's a 6 ohm rated receiver(Us and Europe versions are different) which can drive 4 ohm speakers too.
