    Rotel Discounts

Hi, I am currently looking to ease into seperate components. I have a receiver with pre outputs and would initially like to use it as a preamp.
    Interested in Rotel class d 100w/ch x 5 amp, Emotiva XPA5 200w/ch x 5 or an Emotiva UPA7 100w/ch x7.
The Emotivas are extremely cost competitive and seem to have gotten some good reviews.
The big issue is, is there really that big a difference in sound quality?
Help me with some bias free comments and advice.
Do Rotel dealers typically give discounts for just an amp sale? And if so what discount could I expect?
Thanx in advance for the input.

Can't tell you about the different amps. but my dealer gave me 15% without even asking. I just placed my order today for my set.

15% is expected IMO, but remember in this economy your dollar is simply worth more. If I were you I would make a reasonable offer and go in expecting more.

Having said that if you are just going for the amp you may not have much luck.

You're right. I went with the whole set and got much more in discounts. But still worth a try.

I got some great deals on 10 series equipment but there is very little left in the US. If you are interested in class D try to get a dealer to order you a RMB 1085. I almost got that one but opted for the 1075 Class A/B for a little more $$.

Also Emotiva amps sound nice from my little experience but I have not heard either one you mentioned. I just love that Rotel sound though.

Also on price if you can find a dealer to order you one the 1085 was the same as an XPA5 if that helps.

            Tommy,
            Thanx for thre input.
Do you mean that some dealers will sell the 1085 for about 800 or so? If so I'll buy it!

              Hi Guys,

I plan to build a pair of 3 way loudspeakers with the 12” Lambda TD12H as the woofer. I am shopping around for an amp that will not only drive the mains for music listening but also a surround setup for HT.

I read in a previous post by Jon Marsh that the engineer...

              Test Setup:
              Source/Pre: HTPC with RME 9632 soundcard/ASIO/flac.
Amp 1: McIntosh MA6800 (used as amp)
              Amp 2: Emotiva XPA-5

              Rotel and Emotiva - compared
              by SkyDover
I've been a big fan of Rotel products. I have a Rotel RC-1090 and RB-1090 for home. I also had a RB-1092 and RC-1090 that I purchased for my office at work to listen to when working later hours, to give me something to listen to. During a period of time we were relocating our office in another location,...

Rotel 1069 or to-be-released Emotiva processor?
              by kmcheng
Has anyone done a comparison of Rotel vs. Emotiva in terms of their processors? I am about to pull the trigger on the Rotel 1069, but then I came across the Emotiva UMC-1. The Emotiva unit has not been released yet. However, I am wondering if anyone has listened to some previous versions of Emotiva's...

              Emotiva RMC-1 Meltdown
              by theSven
I've had issue with my Emotiva RMC-1, and I've even sent the unit in to Emotiva for service. I was out of town for work travel for 2 weeks, and upon returning I wanted to watch a movie and spend some time in my theater. I go to turn on the Emotiva and it doesn't boot. I get the typical error ARMC-1...
