I must be losing my mind. I've got a PS3 streaming MP3 over wireless from my home media server. Hooked up to my Rotel RSP-1068 via optical digital. I could have sworn, when I first hooked this up, that the Rotel displayed "MP3" as the detected format on the front display. I remember thinking, "well that's cool". Now, for whatever reason, it simply displays the text of whatever the Rotel default DSP mode is for that audio input. In my case, this is "PCM 2-channel". Not a big deal, because it works fine and serves as a great party jukebox, but it makes me scratch my head as to what's different? The only thing I can think of is that the PS3 firmware changed somehow, so that the outgoing audio stream is now indicating a different format (or NO format indicator), so that the Rotel just applies the default. Any ideas?
