    Comparison of rmb-1085 and 1565

    Hello,
    Has anyone compared the rmb-1085 to the 1565? Just bought the 1085 several months ago would it be worth the upgrade? Secondly how much improvement would there be from going from using a avr645 as a preamp to a rsp-1570?

      I emailed Rotel some time ago and asked about the difference between the new Class D amps in the 15 series and the RMB-1085 and I was told they use the same components.

      The RMB-1077 on the other hand is an older design which was made when Class D components were more expensive to make. - I've demoed the 1077 and I own the 1085 and to me they sound identical. I imagine the new 1565 sounds the same too (especially since it has the same guts as the 1085)

          Just thought I'd pass along a couple of recent reviews of the RMB-1085 amp that I've come across. The first is in the latest (October) issue of Home Theater magazine. The review is not yet available online, but will be eventually.

          I was wondering if replacing my RMB-1075 amplifier with the new RMB-1085 Class D amplifier would improve or make my system sound worse.
          I have 4 Magnepan SMGc and a Magnepan CC3 center speaker (which are all 4 ohm speakers) and a Velodyne DD12 powered subwoofer.
