    Replacement remote control for Rsx-1056?

Hi, new member here. I just picked up a slightly used Rsx-1056 but it did not come with a remote control. Is there any way to pick up a replacement or am I better off just getting a universal remote? If I go the universal remote route, am I still going to be able to properly access all programming menus, etc.? Also, where do I find the universal remote code for the 1056?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Just get a universal remote. Rotel's IR codes are in most universal remotes so you should be fine. Rotel has their IR codes on their website for various brand universal remotes as well so you should be able to find one that will work. A good universal will allow you to operate you whole system as well.

Otherwise remotes pop up on eBay and Audiogon (http://www.audiogon.com) every once and a while. They are quite costly direct from Rotel.

Thanks for the reply guys! Seems like the universal remote is the way to go. Now, can anyone recommend a decent universal remote? Preferably something I can just pick up a Best Buy or the like... :T

Don't get the Harmony 880. It doesn't always charge when it's on the cradle, have to set a heavy object on top of it to weigh it down, or extend the contacts.

Ok, no Harmony 880. Any other good ones that they sell at say Circuit City or Best Buy? I need to pick up one pronto as it appears I can't do any programming of the unit with one.

Btw, what connection do I have to make to my TV so that I can see the Rotel's menu on-screen?

              Universal remote with CAN-BUS
              by Classe4me
Is anybody here using their CAN-BUS with a universal remote? I have a Harmony 1000 touchscreen that I currently use and have not hooked up my CAN-BUS at this point. What I am running currently off of the remote is my plasma, my SSP-600 which automatically triggers my amp with the 12V line trigger,...

New BIG release from Universal Remote for Parasound MXEditor
              by Chris D
Well, for the heck of it today, I started up my Parasound MX Editor program (the one that allows me to custom program my MX-700 remote that came with my C1) and it downloaded a VERY LARGE update from MX Editor.

It required a restart of the MXEditor program, and when it came back up, it...

Universal Remote - suited to Rotel / Australia
              by dmcgowan
I hope this won't upset anyone by posting in Club Rotel but I would like to replace my (growing number of) remotes with a quality universal remote. My question is Rotel specific in that I'd like a single device that will control my current system RSX-1055/RDV-1095/RMB-1050 and RSX-965/RCD-965 and preferably...

              HARMONY 880 Universal Remote
              by DrJRapp
Earlier this week I picked up a Logitec Harmony 880 universal remote to replace my now defunct Sony RM3000 which had been dropped one too many times. Simplicity in a remote is the key criterion here since my wife is a technophobe when it comes to audio and I have a 15 YO step son who already blew out...
