    RMB 1075 Question.

Can I bridge two rmb 1075's together?I have one 1075 now and if I got another is there a way to combine them.Or would it just be best to have 2 and let one do the top end of all speakers and the other too do the bottom end?And if I did it that way how would I be able to tie the audio to both 1075's.Thanks.

As far as I'm aware you can not bridge the RMB-1075.

No bridging. You can run run on highs and one on lows using some RCA Y-cables.

This would be passive bi-amping and you will probably not see much results from doing it. You would be better off getting a 200x5 or 250x5 amp then two 125x5 amps.

With one 1075, you have a maximum of 125 watts at your disposal for all the drivers in a speaker. Since you are not listening to sine waves, both speakers hardly need 125 watts at the same time. Add a second 1075 and you now have a maximum of 125 watts for each driver. Nice if both drivers needed it, but chances are one of your drivers needs more then 125 watts which isn't going to happen.

Have you considered a two channel amp to either single or bi amp the fromnts. Maybe the RB1080 if you can get one.

          Opus007,

I'm with both Kevin and Audio Elf. Using two 1075's will not give you much appreciable improvement (Kevin explains this quite well). I ran tower speakers with a 1077 in bi-amp mode. It was very nice, But when I moved up to a 200 watt amp did things really got better.

The only speakers that could use more than the 125 watts of the 1075 would be the 683's. I like the idea of a 1080 for the mains. I had a 1080 driving some N804's and the results were very nice. A 1080 would be an across the board step up form the 1075.

          Hope this helps.

Well I guess a 1080 would make more sense. Then I could use the 1070 for the center and rears and if I decided to go to 7 channel would have the extra 2 channels left on the 1070 for that..as they do not require as much power as the Mains do.Thanks.

                by len73
                Hello everyone,

I am planning to upgrade my current system (5.1, see signature below for full details) to a 7.1 system with a pair of MonitorAudio GS60.

I have to admit that this new system will be the heart of a brand new HC + Stereo system in my new house (in construction...

I was wondering if replacing my RMB-1075 amplifier with the new RMB-1085 Class D amplifier would improve or make my system sound worse.
I have 4 Magnepan SMGc and a Magnepan CC3 center speaker (which are all 4 ohm speakers) and a Velodyne DD12 powered subwoofer.

                P.S.

                Upgrade : RMB-1075 -> RMB-1077
                by len73
                Hello there,

My dealer just rent me a RMB-1077 (last piece - end of life, but huge discount).

I installed it next to my current RMB-1075 and I am trying to test them simultaneously. First feeling : the 1077 seems to produce tighter bass and softer mids and highs.

                Banana's with RMB-1075
                by briandx
I've read several reviews of Rotels RMB-1075 and RMB-1070 amps, however I have not been able to determine if these amps support banana plugs. If so, do they support the "fixed width" connectors?

                Any thoughts, folks?

                Thanks,
                Brian.
