Feel free to laugh, cry or simply proclaim aloud my general stupidity. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I attempted to disconnect one of the wires from my bi-amped speaker. I guess I just figured my system wasn't powered up because there wasn't any sound coming from it. I would like to blame Rotel because their little blue 'standby' light happens to also be a 'power' light which, to a tired-at-the-end-of-the-week-on-Friday-night-person, can be a little ambiguous at a hasty glance, but no matter how hard I've tried I still realize I, not the designers back in Europe, am the idiot. What happened was I touched the wire to one of the posts that were connected to my amp. It was like a carnival, there were bright lights, lots of sounds, and excitement was in the air. I knew immediately the ramifications of such a blunder, but I couldn't believe it had happened, especially to me. I peered around my speaker to view my rack. Everything may have been power up a moment earlier but they sure weren't anymore. That little blue light that had so warmly welcomed me every morning when I woke up and every night when I returned home from work was gone. Now there is only silence to accompany my pondering how to deal with my problem.
I purchased the unit second hand. There are no dealers in my area. And I'm going to go crazy if I can't listen to music soon, very soon. Any Ideas on how to solve all my problems and make the demonic silence go away?
To clarify: I shorted the amp to the receiver when the power was on and now the receiver doesn't work or even light up in any way. What do I do? Thanks in advance for any suggestions as I'm relatively unfamiliar with audio as well as discussion posts.

Wasn't trying to insult your intelligence with the power reminder , just didn't want to give you unsafe advice. Glad the problem appears to be an easy fix.
