    Subwoofer settings

Hi, Regarding the subwoofer settings---'yes,no, max'
The manuel says "select the MAX settign to redirect all low frequency info from all speakers (including LARGE speakers) to the subwoofer. this will give you maximum bass performance with normal bass information being played by both the subwoofer and any LARGE speakers in the system"
Say what???? if all low freq info is directed to the subwoofer, how the heck is 'normal' bass played by both sub and large speakers?
Shouldn't 'max' be what other receivers/pres call "both" where signals below the crossover setting are directed to both the sub and any large speakers. Is that what their trying to say????
Can anyone explain in plain english what their trying to say??
    Thanks, Paul

Of course, if you've followed some of the other discussions with regard to subwoofer setup on the 1066, you should know that Yes = Max = Both.

          Subwoofer - MAX Setting
          by Adz
          Question
I understand that when you set the Max setting on the subwoofer set-up menu, it basically sends a double bass signal - one to all speakers set to large and an identical bass signal to the subwoofer. This essentially doubles up on the bass being produced. I assume this might be worthwhile...

What do you want in a subwoofer module?
          by thadman
I'm interested in what users of this forum would considerable desirable for a subwoofer module (ie custom subwoofer, amplifier, enclosure, etc) around the $1000 price point.

          Things to reflect upon:

Would you be interested in a completed subwoofer module around the $1000...

          Subwoofer Placement
          by chojun
          Hi,

I just have a quick question. I am rennovating my home theater center... Tearing out walls and building new ones. There is a crawl space directly behind the wall where my TV will be placed. The space is roughly 15' x 15' x 3.5', with the Home Theater room roughly the same size...

          My Rotel RSX-1058 review
          by rpgonzalez
          I couldn't find any, so here's my 2 cents.

Ok, so I read a thread:

          And then a reply stated:

I had seen the press on the new Rotel that featured HDMI audio and video. The Arcam AVR-350 can't, and that really upset me when I...

          Subwoofer setup with RSP 1066
          by nisoli
Yesterday I connected my new subwoofer to my system, set the subwoofer to "Yes" in the Rotel menu and no sound was coming out of the subwoofer. My front speakers are set to "Large". When I set the subwoofer to "Max" then everything was working fine. I have the latest firmware...
