    Trouble with headphones on 1098

Hi everyone I am having trouble getting a set of Sennheiser RS140 wireless headphones to work when connected to my RSP 1098.
The headphones use 2 rca connectors to plug into an audio out socket on the 1098. I have tried several different audio outs but the only input source that works is the tuner.
I've tried different internal switching on the 1098 but nothing seems to work.
    Can anyone help, thanks.

    Linmuse,

Can't you use the Headphones on the Zone 2 pre-outs and then use that to switch whichever input you want? Apols if you have already tried that.

The only thing available out any of the VIDEO OUTs or the ZONE 2 OUT analog connections is what's coming in analog.

IE, if your DVD or Cable/DSS is only hooked up with an optical or coaxial, you will not get any sound out the analog outputs. You will need to run analog connections in addition to the digital. That's why your tuner works.

        Thanks for the feedback guys.
Yes i've tried many combinations of connecting and switching with no success.
If it is the case that i can only get analogue signals out without trying to hook all components up with analogue and digital cables then im pretty disappointed with Rotel for this oversight.
Surely im not the only guy that needs to keep the noise down occasionally.
I have emailed Rotel but no reply as yet.
This will be something i'll be looking for in my next processor.

(I'll be a dead man if she reads it but...)

Best way to keep the noise down is send her and the kids out shopping. Far fewer cables required...!

There are very few pieces out there that have DACs for the record / zone 2 outputs. I've only started to see it in the last year or so. Denon has it on a couple of their current receivers but it only works with a coax or Toslink digital connection. It doesn't work with HDMI so people still need multiple cables.

I am running an optical input to Video1 from a satellite receiver. I have 5 cable outs of 5 channels (RCA audio) outputs going to amp, but need to have additional 2 channel outs to the TV so I can have amp system off for quite viewing. My question is, when I set record and zone outs to Video1, I get...

              Hey Guys-

I have a JVC HM-DH30000H D-VHS VCR on Video 4 connected via component video 4, optical audio 2, and the analog audio/video 4 inputs. Everything works as expected when playing D-Theater HDTV video tapes (except for no video on the 1098 screen). The JVC will not pass an analog...

              RSP-1098 Question
              by len73
              Hello everyone,

I proudly own a RSP-1098 + RMB-1075 combo since a few days only, but I have some trouble finding my way to a good tuning of the 1098.

I use Monitor Audio boxes (GS-20) with it in a HC installation (4XGS-20 + GSLCR for the center). Cable are Monitor Black-White...

No true analog bypass on RSP-1066???
              by Martinf
Prior to committing to a multi-channel pre-amp (RSP-1066), I’ve been studying the specifications and user manuals for both the Rotel RSP-1066 and very new RSP-1098.

              1. Some observations from RSP-1098 manual:-

              (a) On page 13 in the RSP-1098 manual it has an explicit...

I can't believe I'm having trouble with this and I'm hoping someone can chime in. I have a set of Sony wireless headphones that have been connected to my TV for years and work fine. I just cabled up my 1068 with an analog feed from my PC into the Video 3 Audio Inputs. I'm getting sound to my speakers,...
