    Yamaha RX-V2500 to RSP-1068

I just upgraded and the brightness is all gone
2Ch is much better, haven't tried 5.1 with it yet.

Please tell us how it goes with 5.1 thinking of getting a 1069 and a ps3. I don't care about 2 channel performance my shanling takes care of that. I have a yamaha rx-v 659 atm as my pre amp. cheers

I've only sampled two movies with it so far just to confirm that the DD processing worked, I think the dynamic range wasn't properly set... I'll have to play with it some more tonight.

One thing I can say about the movies is that the voices are a bit clearer, it is also more appearent the lossyness of the DD codec; but that's what HD is for right?

Haven't tried DTS, analog input or any video processing features yet.

There are a few things that I don't particularly care for:

        1) It doesn't handle mutli-channel digital DSP sound above 48khz (stereo only)
(Note: The yamaha would mess up if fed a stereo PCM 96khz signal with multi-channel DSP + EQ enabled; Rotel doesn't have an EQ and doesn't really need it either because of higher SQ)

        2) On standby the LED doesn't turn-off and is really bright and since it is in my bedroom I have to manually hit the off switch on the back... every night!

        3) Seems to have a small power hum near the top-back-center of the unit which I assume is a non-torodial power supply in there, from what I recall the Yamaha did not make this noise at this level; you have to be close it hear it (like when you're wiring it up).

        4) Can't do 0.5ft or 0.5db adjustments
        5) Only one memory bank?
        6) Can't dim front panel?
        7) No Phase adjustments? (don't really use them anyway)

Things that I like about it compared to Yamaha:
        1) Crossover + Delay per speaker
        2) Speaker size per mode
        3) Two sub outs
        4) MP3?
        5) Its lighter, cooler and smaller than the rec
        6) It sounds better (channel seperation, transient response and IMD)

          Rotel 1056 or Rotel 1075 w/Yamaha RXV-1400
          by ppatel300
Hello, I am new to this thread and will definately be a Rotelian pretty soon, just need help on deciding which will be better for me, a Rotel rsx-1056 or a Rotel 1075 with a Yamaha RXV-1400 as the pre/pro.

Couple things about my situation :

          1. Cost will be about the same...

Convince me to upgrade my Yamaha RXV-1400 for a Rotel 1056...
          by azsyno
I really want to go this route but I can't quite get there... especially since I just went out and bought a 1080 and 703's 6 weeks ago.

What brings me to this 'need' is the fact that in reading many of the threads on this forum, and listening to my YAM, I truly think I'm missing something...

          Yamaha RXV2500 vs other receivers
          by And123
I'm planning to upgrade Yamaha RXV800 to something better. I'm using B&W DM604 S3 as mains, DM602 S3 as rear and LCR600 S3 in the center. I'm thinking about Yamaha RX-V2500, Rotel 1968, or maybe other brands. Any recommendations?

Turns out I was hooking my Yamaha rxv-2095 up as a preamp correctly. They sold me a dead amp!
          by BKSinAZ
As most of you know, I just bought a RMB-1095 amp today...new in a sealed box. My first Rotel product. When I took it home, I attempted to hook my Yamaha RXV-2095 receiver up as a preamp to the RMB-1095. I thought I was hooking the Yami up incorrectly, but from reading the post it turns out I was doing...
