Is the rsp1069 worth buying?

Well you've discovered that if you have a new tv the 1069 was designed to work with, you will have very few issues at all.

As far as balanced connectors, you won't see any benefit running them with the 1095. Its balanced inputs are pseudo balanced inputs. They get converted to unbalanced right after the connector.

Thanks for the prompt reply Kevin. Didn't expect to get a reply so quickly! Are you kidding me? Are you saying that the "balanced" inputs on the 1095 will not give an extra 3-6db gain?

The correct question should be: do I need 1080p and the ability to stream 7.1 PCM through HDMI. If the answer is no, then you dont need one.

Just perplexed about this comment. Are you suggesting that the 1069 can not put out 1080p from a 1080p source?

I loaned a 1069 for a weekend and my htpc 1080p signal playing blurays passed perfectly through the 1069 to my 50" viera 1080p plasma.

The tv showed the input as "1080P".
