I presently own a RSX-1056, which has recently seen an upgrade (SIGNIFICANT UPGRADE) in what has been being sent to it in regards as a digital source for 2CH CD listening, a Rega Apollo. The change in music, using the Rega as a digital source to the 1056 defies my comprehension of what I thought a "Hi-Fi" system could even do. Having heard all the raves about the analog side of the Rega, despite how overwhelmingly I was impressed with the Rega/Rotel digital combo, I "HAD TO" hear the analog side, in By-Pass mode.
I have, and it is EXTREMELY early in the game, but my intial impressions are, to continue to use the Rega as a means to feed the 1056's DAC's, and straight out to the B&K Amps from there.
I am now just a tad curious as to the percieved, intended, expected quality of the various Rotel pieces that could be used as a "Pre/Pro"... or, is it, that the 1056's digital section, strictly in a 2CH Music Listening config, pretty much it, as far as what is available in Rotel pieces?
(For more detailed information on the setup, see the "RSX-1056 - 2CH CD (music) Listening" thread...)
