    simple hookup issue w/ RSX-1056

Just setting up my system after moving and can't get the signal to the TV. I had the system installed professionally, and thought I marked all the cables, but alas...

I'm using the composite hookups from the dvd player and Comcast box, and the same to the plasma. When I turn on the TV and switch the input to composite it says "Composite Full" then "no signal".

One thing slowing me down is that I haven't unpacked the remote yet, so I can't fool with the menus. I'm guessing this is some simple thing that I just don't know about (most of this stuff is beyond me). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks...

Make sure you are plugging the TV cable into the MONITOR OUT plug, not one of the VIDEO OUT plugs.

I'm pretty certain the cable are all in the right places. If I use the S-video cable, I can see the volume displayed on the screen. I don't have any components hooked up via Svid so I don't know if that'd show the picture. I can try hooking up the dvd player with Svid and see if it works.

        Still not working

Help! I finally found the remotes after my move. I've been using the TV by hooking the Svideo directly from the cable box to the plasma, and the sound to the reciever. I do have the cables from the monitor out to the plasma correctly. I'm pretty sure all cables are correct as I took care to label them before I removed them pre-move. The television says "component:full" when I switch the input to the component, but then says "no input", even though the cables are coming from the reciever into the tv and the input on the reciever is selected properly (I can hear the audio). There has to be some menu setting in the reciever somewhere, but I cannot see the menu display anyway... I consider myself a pretty technical guy and would be pretty embarrassed to have to call geek squad or something. Any help is appreciated.

If your going svideo directly from the cablebox to your display you need to select the proper input on the display. You hear the audio since you have the audio from your box to the reciever.Your dsplay should have component inputs. If you want to run thru you receiver if your cablebox has component run component cables into the receiver input then component cables out from the reciever to your display. But you would still need to select the proper video input on the display which would be component. If right now its only svideo from your box to the tv change the video input to svideo on the display and see if you get the picture.(your tv remote should have a button for tv inputs.)

Do you have the S-video cable connected to the proper S-video jack on the receiver that is assigned the input your using? For example, just because your selecting Video 1 on the receiver doesn't mean the Video 1 jack on the back of the receiver is what is assigned to it. Douple check the input configuration in the on screen menu.

              TV/VCR/DVD/Modulator HookUp to RSX-1055
              by pglover19
I am new to the HT world. I am planning on purchasing a Rotel RSX-1055 receiver in the next couple of weeks. I have downloaded the owner's manual and see that there are a lot of video inputs/output. Can you explain or send me a diagram of how most of you have your video components (VCR, DVD) and TV...

              Rsx 1056 hookup two subs?
              by hotwheels
Is it possible to hook up two subwoofers to the RSX1056? I am going to get two subs primarily for HT use, but I am also thinking of using them for music too. If it is possible to hook up two, are the connections the same for HT or music?

              rotel rsx1056 w/4 ohm speakers;misconception
              by rick c
I always thought that the rsx1056 should not be used with 4ohm speakers.Atleast that's what rotel told me a while back when i was inquiring about dynaudio speakers,so i ended up with B&W 603s3's/lcr600(really liked them anyway).Well i have upgraded my speakers to a System Audio setup(sa1750/sa720av/sa505's)these...

C2 7.1 hookup with samsung BD player
              by art
Since C1/C2 does not support sound via HDMI connection, the closet hookup that will allow us to utilize the new loss-less format is via a 7.1 ch analog connection. To take advantage of the new sound format, I bought a Samsung BD C6500 which has a 7.1 ch analog output to use with my Parasound C2....

              RSX-1055 hookup question
              by Armond
I'm trying to run my cable box via component video/audio cables through the 1055. I figured out the video part but where does the audio part go? I'm sure it's very simple but I can't and not sure where to hook it up to. I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm sure there is a simple solution. Thanks....
